People's Artist Xuan Bac takes on additional responsibilities.
People's Artist Xuan Bac - Director of the Department of Performing Arts - has been appointed to the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for the term 2025-2030.
At the First Congress of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST), term 2025-2030, Mr. Chu Dinh Dong - Member of the Executive Committee, Deputy Head of the Organization Department of the Government Party Committee - announced the decision of the Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee on the appointment of the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Secretary, and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the MOCST for the term 2025-2030.
Among the 32 members of the new Executive Committee is People's Artist Xuan Bac, Director of the Department of Performing Arts.
Participating in the Congress as a representative of the Party Branch of the Department of Performing Arts, People's Artist Xuan Bac presented a paper on the topic:"Promoting the pioneering role of performing arts in building the Vietnamese people of the new era, preserving identity, spreading values, and inspiring creativity.".
People's Artist Xuan Bac affirmed that performing arts in the 2020-2025 term have undergone many significant transformations. The Department of Performing Arts has proactively advised and proposed decrees and circulars to perfect the legal framework, creating conditions for artistic creation to develop in the right direction, while still ensuring the role of state management.
He particularly emphasized:"Art is not only a means of expression, but also a flame of thought, a thread connecting the hearts of the people with the soul of the nation."
According to People's Artist Xuan Bac, political and cultural art programs during major holidays and political-diplomatic events all possess national significance, cultural depth, and social impact, contributing to affirming performing arts as a "soft spearhead" in the strategy for developing Vietnamese culture and people.
People's Artist Xuan Bac assessed that the most vigorous period of development for performing arts will be from 2024 to early 2025, when many large-scale programs organized by Vietnamese units will have reached regional standards.
""These nights were filled with emotion, the sea of people erupting in excitement, joining in the melodies of songs steeped in Vietnamese culture. The crowd fell silent for the somber notes and exploded with the high notes of each performance on stage with the artists. We have had programs with technology, sound, and lighting on such a scale that our international friends have to admire them.", he said.
Instead of focusing on difficulties, Director Xuan Bac emphasized the spirit of "no difficulty is insurmountable" with the right leadership of the Party and the State. He pledged that in the new term, the Department of Performing Arts will be more proactive, creative, and decisive to ensure that culture and arts truly become a lifeline nurturing the national spirit, contributing to affirming Vietnam's position on the international cultural map.
People's Artist Xuan Bac was appointed Director of the Department of Performing Arts in October 2024, after serving as Director of the Vietnam National Drama Theatre since January 2021.
