Prime Minister: Continue to consider and address the concerns of the US side
On the afternoon of June 28, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting to continue reviewing and resolving the US side's concerns related to economics, trade, and investment.
Also attending were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, and leaders of relevant ministries, branches and agencies.
After listening to reports, opinions and conclusions of the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that in the context of rapid, complex and unpredictable developments in the world and the region, we will continue to firmly pursue the economic growth target of 8% this year, while maintaining macroeconomic stability, controlling inflation, ensuring major balances, and improving the material and spiritual lives of the people.
To achieve this goal, we continue to promote cooperation with all partners, including the United States; as in the morning of the same day, the Prime Minister chaired a discussion with British businesses operating, investing and doing business in Vietnam. Recently, many issues of concern to the United States have been actively and effectively resolved.
Following the consistent directions of the Politburo and General Secretary To Lam, with the spirit of cooperation, proactiveness, positivity, efficiency and perseverance, the Vietnamese side is always ready to dialogue, listen to each other's opinions, consider issues of concern and requests of partners, including the United States, absorb opinions, resolve appropriate and appropriate proposals; on the basis of international practices, comply with the laws and agreements between the two countries, ensure harmony of interests, risk sharing, mutual benefit, if there are any problems, they will be resolved together, serving the interests of the two countries, people, businesses of both sides and related entities, while not affecting Vietnam's international commitments, ensuring Vietnam's core interests, meeting the requirements of maintaining independence, sovereignty and building an independent, autonomous economy associated with proactive, active international integration, deeply, substantially and effectively.
With institutional and legal problems, the two sides will dialogue and listen to find suitable solutions that meet the requirements of both sides. Research agencies will amend according to their authority. If they exceed their authority, they will propose to competent authorities for consideration and decision. From there, it will contribute to removing institutional bottlenecks, innovating the work of building and enforcing laws. This is one of the three strategic breakthroughs and also one of the "four pillars" of Vietnam, contributing to socio-economic development, promoting bilateral relations in general and economic, trade and investment relations in particular in an equal, stable, healthy and effective manner.
