Today's pepper prices (July 3rd) in the world market.

On the world market, based on quotations from exporting companies and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) has updated the prices of various types of pepper traded on the international market on July 2nd (local time) as follows:

Indonesian Lampung black pepper prices fell slightly compared to yesterday, reaching US$7,526/ton (down 0.28%). Additionally, Muntok white pepper prices also decreased slightly compared to yesterday, reaching US$10,167/ton (down 0.28%).

Brazilian ASTA black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at $6,050 per ton.

Malaysian ASTA black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at US$9,000/tonne. Additionally, the price of ASTA white pepper from the same country also remained unchanged from yesterday at US$11,750/tonne.

Prices for all types of Vietnamese pepper remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Specifically, the price of Vietnamese black pepper (500 gr/l) reached US$6,240/ton; and the price of black pepper (550 gr/l) reached US$6,370/ton.

Similarly, the price of Vietnamese white pepper remained unchanged from yesterday at $8,950 per ton.

Domestic pepper prices have risen sharply, expected to peak in the second half of 2025.

Domestic pepper prices continued to rise sharply today, extending the upward trend of the past week. The current price is the highest in many years.

The main reason for this increase is the tightening of domestic supply. Many farmers and traders tend to hold onto their stock, waiting for higher prices before selling. Meanwhile, the main harvest season has ended, and the amount of pepper brought to market has decreased sharply, making the supply even scarcer.

Besides supply factors, strong export demand is also contributing to price increases. Major markets such as China, the US, the EU, and the Middle East are all increasing their imports of pepper from Vietnam. In particular, China has increased its purchases in the past month, creating significant demand.

Currently, the export price of Vietnamese black pepper has risen to 6,240-6,370 USD/ton, an increase of nearly 7% compared to the beginning of June. The price of white pepper has also reached 8,950 USD/ton, the highest in two years.

On the international market, pepper prices are showing signs of recovery as major exporting countries like Brazil and Indonesia restrict sales due to low prices or unfavorable weather conditions. In addition, improved logistics, transportation, and customs clearance in the Middle East and Asia are speeding up deliveries and supporting price increases.

According to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), pepper prices have shown a slight recovery since the end of June. Farmers and speculators are still holding onto their stock, expecting prices to continue rising in the third and fourth quarters of this year. This hoarding mentality has led to a temporary decrease in supply, contributing to the sustained upward price trend.

However, on the global market, the appreciation of the US dollar and escalating geopolitical tensions are making investors more cautious. At the same time, logistics costs remain high, creating short-term pressure on pepper prices at present.
