LTS:When artists achieve success, in addition to their own efforts, they often say that they are "treated by the ancestors" and "fed by the ancestors". In the art world, there are families that have achieved much glory thanks to their diligence and passion for their profession. There are families that have been loved and blessed by the ancestors for three or four generations. VietNamNet would like to introduce a series of such families.

People's Artist Thuy Mo

People's Artist Thuy Mo was born into a poor family in the countryside of Hai Duong. Her father died when she was only 6 years old, and the poverty forced Thuy Mo to become self-reliant from a very young age. But it was these hardships that forged a strong, rustic artistic soul.

"When I was young, my family was very poor and my father died early, so I had to figure everything out on my own," she recalls. From the evenings sitting in the yard listening to the radio and singing along, to the first time I stood on stage at the age of 16 as a soldier in a play.First letterand won the special prize, fate led her to the art of Cheo.

With nearly 40 years of dedication to the art of Cheo, People's Artist Thuy Mo left a deep impression through classic roles such as Ms. Lan inThe story of Nhan village, Chrysanthemum inSong Tran Cuc Hoa,or Tam inTam CamShe is not only an excellent artist but also a great teacher and mother of a "big artistic family".

During the difficult years, having to raise a small child while performing everywhere, she had to do extra jobs sewing hats, rolling tobacco to earn more income... but that did not lessen her love for Cheo in her heart. "Just putting on makeup, going on stage, transforming into a role, all the worries, hardships and resentments in life seemed to disappear," she confided.

Success did not come easily to anyone in the family. People's Artist Thuy Mo had to wait until 2019, more than ten years after her retirement, to receive the title of People's Artist at the age of 66. "When I received the news that I was awarded the title of People's Artist, I was home alone. I don't know why, but tears just flowed out of my eyes and I choked up for more than ten minutes," People's Artist Thuy Mo said.

Meritorious Artist Minh Phuong

Meritorious Artist Minh Phuong - daughter of People's Artist Thuy Mo - born in 1974, inherited all of her mother's talent and love for art. But her artistic path was not smooth.

"I'm lucky because I've probably been listening to Cheo since I was in my mother's womb," Minh Phuong shared. Since she was little, she followed her mother to the troupe, "hanging around in the wings, fascinated by the artists singing." Her love for Cheo is in her blood, but to become a professional artist, she had to go through many challenges.

At first, her father did not agree to let his daughter pursue art because he understood the hardships of artists. There were times when Thuy Mo and Minh Phuong participated in competitions in Hanoi, only mother and daughter went to the competition, the money in their pockets was only enough to buy a loaf of bread after the competition.

With her soulful, rustic voice and profound performance ability, Minh Phuong has achieved many successes. She won a Gold medal for her role as Cuc Hoa inTong Tran - Chrysanthemum,Second prize in the Folk Music Voice Contest organized by Voice of Vietnam and was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist in 2007.

Ha An Huy

Ha An Huy, born in 2002, is the third generation in this artistic family. Since childhood, he has lived in a "musical cradle", learning to play the drums at the age of 3 under the guidance of his grandmother, and accompanying his mother to performances and recordings.

But unlike the two previous generations, Ha An Huy chose the path of modern music. Although he chose to pursue pop music to express his own personality, he still kept his love for Cheo in his heart.
