Coffee prices today, July 6, 2025: Continuing to rise.
Today, July 6th, domestic coffee prices are at 95,000 - 95,600 VND/kg. Coffee prices continue to increase by 800 VND/kg compared to yesterday. The area planted with coffee in Vietnam has increased significantly compared to the same period last year.
Domestic coffee prices today
Domestic coffee prices in the Central Highlands region today, July 6, 2025, continued to rise, fluctuating between 95,800 and 96,400 VND/kg.
Accordingly, traders in Dak Nong province are buying coffee at the highest price of 96,400 VND/kg, a slight increase of 800 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Similarly, the price of coffee in Dak Lak province is 96,300 VND/kg, an increase of 800 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Coffee prices in Gia Lai province increased by 800 VND/kg compared to yesterday and are trading at 96,300 VND/kg.
In Lam Dong province, the price of coffee increased by 800 VND/kg compared to yesterday, reaching 95,800 VND/kg.
According to the June report from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the area under coffee cultivation in Vietnam increased by 14,200 hectares, equivalent to a 2% increase compared to the same period last year. The total coffee area nationwide now stands at approximately 735,200 hectares. The main reason for this increase is the sharp rise in coffee prices recently, prompting farmers to accelerate replanting and expand cultivation areas to take advantage of the high prices.
Not only in Vietnam, but also in South American countries, which have the advantage of vast land resources, the trend of expanding coffee cultivation is occurring. Rising coffee prices have become a common driving force behind investment in production in many major exporting nations.
At a coffee conference organized by the Brazilian Coffee Exporters Association (Cecafe), the Director-General of the International Coffee Organization (ICO), Ms. Vanusia Nogueira, predicted that global coffee production is likely to boom within the next three years. This assessment comes as many countries are simultaneously increasing their planted areas to meet market demand.
World coffee prices today
Coffee prices on the world market showed mixed movements on the two exchanges:
Robusta coffee (London):
September 2025 delivery: Increased by $50/ton, to $3,677/ton.
November 2025 delivery: Increased by $46/ton, to $3,615/ton.
Arabica coffee (New York):
September 2025 delivery: Down 1.6 cents/lb, to 289.6 cents/lb.
December 2025 delivery: Down 1.2 cents/lb, to 284.15 cents/lb.
In an interview with Reuters at the Coffee Dinner & Summit in Campinas, Brazil, Mr. Bahamon stated that heavy rains are severely impacting coffee production in Colombia. He predicted a sharp decline in coffee harvests in October, November, and December due to unfavorable weather, with cuts potentially reaching 1-1.5 million bags. This poses a significant challenge for the Colombian coffee industry, which is projected to produce around 15 million bags in the 2024-2025 crop year.
Colombia is the world's third-largest coffee producer, after Brazil and Vietnam. However, the global coffee market is under significant downward pressure this year. Since the end of 2024, robusta coffee prices have fallen by approximately 26%, erasing much of last year's strong gains.
According to Commerzbank, the main reason for this sharp drop in coffee prices is the expectation of increased supply. In Brazil, the harvest is underway on a large scale, leading to a greater influx of goods onto the market and putting pressure on prices.
