Trusting chatGPT, Vietnamese tourists lose millions of dong.
A Vietnamese female tourist missed her bus from Tokyo to Kyoto due to an error while using ChatGPT to translate her bus ticket information, causing a stir online.
During her trip to Japan, the female tourist chose a night bus to save money and bought a ticket departing at 9:50 AM. Unsure about the time printed on the ticket, she used ChatGPT to translate from Japanese to Vietnamese.

As a result, ChatGPT translated most of the information correctly, but mistakenly changed the time from 9:50 AM to 9:50 PM. Believing this result, she decided not to go and missed the bus.

The female tourist shared the incident on social media, warning people to be cautious when using AI to look up information. The post attracted many comments, with some suggesting that Japan's 24-hour time system made the time on the ticket clearly show 9:50 AM.
Many people wondered why she didn't use specialized translation apps. She explained that she had been using ChatGPT since the beginning of her trip without any problems, so she had no doubts about the results.
Some netizens suggested the error might be due to incorrect prompt input. When retested on ChatGPT and other AI applications, the results confirmed the correct time was 9:50 AM.

This incident serves as a lesson for tourists about the need to verify information from AI sources by asking ticket staff, comparing it with other translation apps, asking locals, or consulting travel groups.
