A Vietnamese female tourist missed her bus from Tokyo to Kyoto due to a mistake in using ChatGPT to translate bus ticket information, causing a stir in the online community.

During a trip to Japan, a female tourist chose the night bus to save money and bought a ticket departing at 9:50 a.m. Unsure of the time on the ticket, she used ChatGPT to translate from Japanese to Vietnamese.

As a result, ChatGPT translated most of the information correctly, but mistakenly translated the time from 9:50 AM to 9:50 PM. Believing in this result, she decided not to go and missed the bus.

The female tourist shared the incident on social media, warning people to be careful when using AI to look up information. The post attracted many comments, some of which said that Japan's 24-hour time system made the time on the ticket clearly read 9:50 AM.

Many people wondered why she didn't use a dedicated translation app. She explained that she had been using ChatGPT since the beginning of the trip without any problems, so she didn't doubt the results.

Some netizens speculated that the error might be due to incorrect input of the prompt. When trying again on ChatGPT and other AI applications, the results confirmed that the correct time was 9:50 AM.

This incident is a lesson for tourists about the need to verify information from AI, by asking ticket sellers, comparing with other translation apps, asking local people or consulting with travel groups.
