The Literature score distribution of 1.14 million candidates taking the 2025 high school graduation exam was announced by the Ministry of Education and Training on the afternoon of July 15, with no student achieving a score of 10.

The average score for Literature this year is 7 points, down 0.23 points compared to last year. The Ministry of Education and Training estimates that the score distribution is similar in the 2022-2025 period.

While last year the whole country only had two candidates scoring 10 points, this year the number has changed significantly.

The analysis of candidates' scores in 34 new provinces and cities shows that with more than 39,000 candidates taking the exam, Nghe An has an average Literature score of 8 points, the highest in the country and is the only province with an average score above 8. This score is 1 point higher than the national average.

Next, candidates from Ha Tinh province achieved an average score of 7.9 points, Hanoi 7.63 points, Thanh Hoa 7.61 points. The remaining provinces and cities in the top 10 are Can Tho, Phu Tho, Hue, Quang Ninh, An Giang and Ho Chi Minh City. The average score in these localities is 7 points or higher.

The high school graduation exam will take place on June 26-27 with 1.14 million candidates following the new program. Students will have to take two compulsory subjects, Literature and Mathematics, and two elective subjects in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, History, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology (Agriculture, Industry), and Foreign Languages (7 languages).

Literature is the only subject that requires an essay test with two parts: Reading Comprehension (4 points) and Writing (6 points). The Reading Comprehension section uses the work "Different Skylands" by Nguyen Minh Chau, then asks about the role of details and the effects of rhetorical devices.

The Writing section has two questions that are both based on this work. The literary essay question requires candidates to analyze the feelings of the character Le for Son. The social essay discusses the topic "the sky of any homeland is the sky of the Fatherland", based on candidates' understanding of the context of the country undergoing many great changes.

Many teachers commented that the exam closely followed the sample exam structure announced by the Ministry of Education and Training at the end of last year. The question types closely followed the cognitive level according to the sample exam matrix structure. At that time, teachers predicted that the common score would be 6-7 points.RetryClaude can make mistakes. Please double-check responses.
