Low Life is a film adapted from the famous webtoon Fine by Yoon Tae Ho, based on real events that took place in the 1970s in Korea. The film takes viewers on a dramatic and dangerous journey, where greed and survival instincts reign supreme.

The story revolves around Oh Gwan Seok (Ryu Seung Ryong), a tycoon who makes money by any means necessary. He lives by petty tricks and is always looking for opportunities to change his life. Accompanying Oh Gwan Seok is Oh Hui Dong (Yang Se Jong), his nephew, who is also caught up in the vortex of making a living full of traps.

The story begins when Oh Gwan Seok hears a rumor about a huge treasure: a ship carrying many valuable items sank off the coast of Shinan in 1977. This is a real event in Korean history, known as the "Shinan Shipwreck", where thousands of ancient ceramics and other valuable relics were salvaged. This rumor ignites a strong hope in Oh Gwan Seok to change his life. He is determined to go with Oh Hui Dong to Mokpo, a bustling port city, with the desire to find the treasure buried at the bottom of the sea.

Low Life will not only be a story about a treasure hunt but also a picture reflecting the harsh life of people at the bottom of society in the 70s. They have to face the pressure of making a living, the temptations of greed and the constant struggle for survival.
