The Nghe An Provincial Military Command inspects readiness for responding to Typhoon Wipha (Typhoon No. 3).

On July 21st, a delegation from the Provincial Military Command, led by Colonel Hoang Dinh Luan - Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Provincial Military Command, inspected the preparations and readiness for responding to Typhoon Wipha No. 3 in several coastal communes and wards in the province.

As soon asTyphoon No. 3 (Wipha) has formed.Given the potential for direct impact on Nghe An province, the Nghe An Provincial Military Command has implemented a comprehensive response plan based on the "four on-the-spot" principle, determined to avoid being caught off guard or unprepared in any situation. With a sense of urgency and responsibility, agencies and units have actively monitored the area, proactively coordinating with local Party committees, authorities, and military forces stationed in the area to work alongside the people in disaster prevention and control.

The Provincial Military Command has directed the Regional Defense Commands; the Provincial Border Guard Command and the Military Commands of communes and wards to maintain 100% troop readiness, with equipment and technology prepared; to coordinate with local authorities to inspect and review vulnerable areas, especially those at risk of landslides and flooding; to develop specific plans and coordinate closely with local authorities to call on boats and ships to seek safe shelter, while simultaneously educating the public to proactively reinforce their houses and protect their property; and for agencies and units to proactively inspect and reinforce warehouses and barracks, ensuring the safety of facilities and maintaining uninterrupted communication...

To prepare for the storm and heavy rain expected in the coming days, Colonel Hoang Dinh Luan, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Provincial Military Command, instructed all units to thoroughly understand and strictly implement the directives from the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, the 4th Military Region Command, and the Provincial Military Command regarding storm and rain prevention and control. Commanders of all units are required to constantly monitor and update the storm situation, and maintain strict duty rosters and readiness for deployment upon order.

The Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Provincial Military Command also requested that units conduct a review to ensure the safety of barracks, warehouses, stations, and troop activities. They should also check the technical specifications and safety status of ships, boats, vehicles, and rescue equipment and vehicles.

Regularly coordinate with local Party committees, authorities, and military units stationed in the area to closely monitor the situation, review reservoirs and dams, and areas at risk of flash floods, landslides, and mudslides. Inform and notify people living and working on boats, rafts, and in fields and farms about the situation so they can find safe shelter.
