Nghe An police mobilized 100 union members and youths to help people overcome the consequences of storm No. 3.

Faced with the impact of storm No. 3 (Wipha), on the afternoon of July 23, Nghe An Provincial Police organized a ceremony to mobilize 100 union members and youth from various units to support people affected by the storm.

Due to the influence of the tropical convergence zone, many mountainous areas in Nghe An are still experiencing heavy rain, with a high risk of landslides, flash floods and flooding. Local authorities have urgently evacuated nearly 1,200 households in vulnerable areas; hundreds of villages in mountainous communes are still isolated, without electricity and communication. Floods have submerged 1,342 hectares of rice, 286 hectares of seedlings, nearly 750 hectares of vegetables and destroyed nearly 300 hectares of forest. Many national and provincial highways have been eroded, 16 locations are deeply flooded; 03 bridges were washed away, 34 electric poles were broken, 01 transformer station was short-circuited and burned.

As of 6:00 a.m. on July 23, Nghe An province recorded 1 death, 1 missing person, 4 injured people, more than 3,200 houses deeply flooded and many traffic routes cut off.

In the face of the impactHeavy damage from storm number 3Nghe An Provincial Police mobilized 100 officers and soldiers divided into 2 groups to Nhon Mai, Chieu Luu, Huu Kiem, Muong Xen, and Con Cuong communes to support people in overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3.

Youth volunteers focused on supporting people in strengthening their houses, evacuating people and property to safe places before the storm hit; supporting crop harvesting and transporting agricultural products to areas at risk of being affected; coordinating with local authorities to ensure traffic safety, drainage, environmental sanitation, clearing trees and obstacles on the road after the storm; supporting in overcoming the consequences, repairing houses and structures affected by the storm; visiting, encouraging and supporting families who suffered losses...
