10 more people arrested for participating in 350 billion VND betting ring

Da Nang City Police issued a decision to prosecute 14 people, of which 10 were temporarily detained, including Tran Dinh Dung (born in 1967) and Le Van Cuong (born in 1983, both residing in Hai Chau ward); Le Kiem Bich (born in 1972) and Do Cong Thanh (born in 1987, both residing in Thanh Khe ward); Le Phuoc Cuong (born in 1992) and Do Sy Tan (born in 1986, both residing in Hoa Khanh ward); Huynh Van Dung (born in 1985, residing in Son Tra ward); Dao Ngoc Minh Nhut (born in 1990, residing in An Khe ward); Truong Cong Quoc Lam (born in 1995, residing in Hoa Cuong ward) and Ton Nu Thi Kim Phuong (born in 1989, residing in An Khe ward, Da Nang City).
4 people were prosecuted and subjected to measures of being banned from leaving their place of residence and banned from leaving the country due to their indirect participation or assisting in the crime, including: Pham Xuan Huy (born in 1979) and Vo Nhu Thien (born in 1987, both in Hoa Cuong ward); Nguyen Ngoc Hung (born in 1991, residing in Ngu Hanh Son ward) and Dang Duc Huy (born in 1993, residing in Hai Chau ward).

To conceal their activities, the group of people in the betting ring used anonymous messaging software to exchange information and conduct transactions, causing many difficulties for the investigation.
Using professional measures, detectives identified the two ringleaders as Nguyen Minh Tri (born in 1990, residing in Hoa Cuong Bac ward) and Huynh Van An (born in 1989, residing in Hoa Quy ward, Da Nang). On June 21, the police simultaneously searched the residence, summoned 34 related people and seized 35 mobile phones, 2 cars, 50 million VND in cash, 15,000 pages of data and many other documents.
Through data extraction, police determined that from April 2025 to present, this line organized more than 100,000 gambling sessions in Da Nang, Quang Nam and many neighboring localities, with a total estimated transaction amount of more than 350 billion VND.
