Quang Nam FC did not submit a registration list to participate in V.League 2025/2026, which means the Quang Nam team has withdrawn from the tournament. This is very regrettable when the new season is near.

Fans across the country have just experienced a "shock" calledQuang Nam ClubIn less than 2 weeks, the team that won the 2017 V.League has made the media and the Vietnamese football community "spin like a top": From the news of dissolution on July 21, to the announcement of having a new sponsor and continuing to participate in the tournament, then suddenly... officially not participating in the 2025/2026 V.League when it did not submit the registration list on time.

This is a pity for the Quang Nam team as they are a team with a long tradition and won the V.League 2017. But behind that sudden absence are a series of consequences that are forcing the V.League and other teams to urgently adjust their plans.

Quang Nam's withdrawal from the tournament puts the number of teams in the V.League next season at risk of decreasing from 14 to 13. This forces the Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) to find alternative solutions.

The two most mentioned names are Truong Tuoi Dong Nai and PVF-CAND – the teams ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively in the First Division in the 2024/2025 season. However, the possibility of these two teams being promoted to V.League is very low.

Because Truong Tuoi Dong Nai is not interested in the "rescue" spot, their goal is to be promoted by their own strength, through the First Division. Being promoted to V.League without having time to prepare thoroughly in terms of personnel, finance or organization is what the Club's leadership wants to avoid.

Similarly, PVF-CAND also almost refused the opportunity to be promoted quickly, when the remaining time before the new season is too short to build a squad capable of competing in the fiercest playground in the country. Therefore, the most feasible option that VPF is considering is to organize V.League 2025/2026 with only 13 teams.

If the V.League next season takes place with 13 teams, each round will have only 6 matches instead of 7. It is worth noting that there is only 1 relegation spot left - information that is considered "as happy as opening the flag" for struggling teams such as Song Lam Nghe An, Hong Linh Ha Tinh, Hoang Anh Gia Lai or SHB Da Nang.

Even some mid-table clubs will benefit from not having to worry about the usual intense relegation battle. However, this also poses a challenge for the organizers in maintaining the attractiveness and competitiveness of the tournament, especially in the final stages of the season.

Besides, the fact that Quang Nam Club will not participate in the tournament means that a series of players will find new destinations, creating a notable personnel shift in the transfer season.

Goalkeeper Nguyen Van Cong quickly joined Becamex Ho Chi Minh City, main striker Atshimene Charles chose to join Hong Linh Ha Tinh. Meanwhile, SHB Da Nang added 4 faces from the Quang Nam team including Le Van Quang Duyet, Nguyen Duy Duong, Khong Minh Gia Bao and Le Vu Quoc Nhat... The fact that players who have fought in V.League have the opportunity to play for a new team is a positive thing, helping them maintain their form and bring quality to other teams.

For Song Lam Nghe An, the withdrawal of Quang Nam Club not only affects the overall level of the tournament but also directly affects the Nghe team. According to the original schedule, Song Lam Nghe An will travel to Tam Ky Stadium in the opening round of V.League 2025/2026. Now, the match has been canceled, causing the Nghe team to not be able to play in the first round, somewhat disappointing fans who were waiting for the performance of the young players and rookies this season.

However, if we look at it from a positive perspective,Lam River Nghe Analso reduced a tough opponent. Statistics show that in the last 9 meetings, the Nghe team only won 1 match against Quang Nam, drew 6 and lost 2 - not a very impressive record.

It can be said that the withdrawal of Quang Nam is a great loss for Vietnamese football. This team not only gradually reached the top of V.League but also maintained its own identity and the deep love of football of the people of Quang Nam and neighboring areas.

In the context that many clubs are still struggling to find sponsors, worry about finances and personnel, the story of Quang Nam is like a wake-up call:V.LeagueA more sustainable mechanism is needed, from organization, finance to strategic management to maintain stability and long-term development./.
