After more than 10 days of struggling to cope with the floods and focusing on overcoming the consequences, life in the mountainous commune of Tuong Duong is gradually returning to normal. The markets are bustling, at the Public Administration Service Center, people come to do procedures after many days of waiting because the roads are not yet open.
After the impact of storm No. 3, many roads in Tuong Duong commune suffered serious landslides, especially inter-commune routes. Dozens of rocks and soil spilled onto the road surface, many sections were completely cut off, causing great difficulties for travel and transport of goods. Immediately after the storm subsided, the Tuong Duong commune government mobilized local forces, coordinated with traffic management units to deploy emergency plans to overcome the consequences. Hundreds of cadres, militia and local people were mobilized to clean up mud and soil, temporarily clearing the road at heavily congested points.
