Many localities in Nghe An are at risk of forest fires at a dangerous level, requiring proactive response plans.
According to the Steering Committee of the Sustainable Forestry Development Program of Nghe An province for the period 2021 - 2025, from August 11 to 13, the province will experience extremely hot weather, with a risk of forest fires in many wards and communes.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from August 11 to 13, 2025, the area from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang, including Nghe An, will experience widespread heat waves, with common temperatures ranging from 35-37°C, with some places above 37°C.
Due to the impact of severe heat, the risk of forest fires in Nghe An is forecast to be high, from level III (high) to level IV (dangerous).
Specifically,level III (high)including communes and wards: Kim Bang, Son Lam, Hanh Lam, Cat Ngan, Tam Dong, Tien Dong, Giai Xuan, Nghia Hanh, Nghia Dong, Tan Ky, Tan An, Con Cuong, Binh Chuan, Mau Thach, Mon Son, Cam Phuc, Chau Khe, Anh Son, Anh Son Dong, Vinh Tuong, Thanh Binh Tho, Nghia Mai, Nghia Lam, Nghia Khanh, Dong Hieu, Chieu Luu, Huu Kiem, Tuong Duong, Luong Minh, Huu Khuong, Nhon Mai, Tam Quang, Tam Thai, Nga My, Yen Na, Yen Hoa, Muong Ham, Muong Chong, Chau Loc, Chau Hong, Tam Hop, Quy Hop, Quy Chau, Hung Chan, Chau Tien, Chau Binh, Que Phong, Thong Thu, Tien Phong, Tri Le, Muong Quang, Quang Dong, Van Du.
These are areas with prolonged dry weather, prone to forest fires, so special attention needs to be paid to fire prevention in bamboo forests, mixed forests.

These are places with dry weather, prolonged drought, and a risk of large forest fires, with rapid fire spread, threatening large areas of forest and residential areas near the forest.
The Steering Committee of the Provincial Sustainable Forestry Development Program for the 2021-2025 period requires localities to strictly implement regulations on forest fire prevention and fighting; deploy timely warning information at fire watchtowers, through 360-degree camera systems and on mass media.
Propaganda and education on fire prevention and control awareness need to be strengthened; the use of fire in and near forests should be strictly controlled, slash-and-burn cultivation and vegetation treatment by fire should be temporarily stopped; and violations should be strictly handled.
Authorities must organize 24/7 shifts, set up checkpoints, patrol and guard key areas; control people entering and leaving the forest; promptly detect and extinguish fires as soon as they arise.
Relic sites associated with forests such as Hoang Thi Loan's tomb (Kim Lien commune), King Mai Hac De's tomb (Van An commune), Quyet mountain forest park (Truong Vinh ward) and Cuong temple area (An Chau commune) need special attention to protection.
When a fire occurs, the Chairman of the People's Committee of the commune or ward must directly command the fire fighting, mobilize forces and means; in forests near residential areas, it is necessary to prepare evacuation plans to ensure the safety of people and property.
After controlling the fire, the locality needs to urgently investigate the cause, identify the fire-causing object (if any) and strictly handle it according to regulations.
Previously, on August 10, two consecutive forest fires occurred in the province at Ru Oi, Hoa Quan commune and Thien Nhan mountain, Thien Nhan commune. Functional forces, local authorities and people coordinated to extinguish the fires in a short time.
