U9 Song Lam Nghe An enters 'easy' group at 2025 National U9 Tournament
On the afternoon of August 11, in Tay Ninh province, the draw ceremony for the Toyota Cup 2025 National U9 Football Tournament determined that U9 Song Lam Nghe An is in Group E with HYS Hanoi, Lam Dong and Ba Ria Vung Tau. This is considered a favorable group for coach Huu Lam and his team.
This year's tournament has 24 teams, divided into 6 groups, playing a round-robin to select the 2 first-place teams, 2 second-place teams and 4 third-place teams with the best results to enter the round of 16. The tournament takes place from August 12 to 26 at Tay Ninh Provincial Sports Stadium. The organizing unit is the Young Pioneer and Children Newspaper in collaboration with the Vietnam Football Federation, and the main sponsor Toyota Vietnam.
This year,U9 Song Lam Nghe Anwas established at the beginning of the year with 16 players and 3 coaches. Unlike the 2024 season, which only had 2 months of preparation, this year's team has been training systematically for nearly a year. During the summer, the whole team maintains 2 training sessions/day, combining artificial turf and indoor fields to get used to the hard surface.
As the runner-up last season, U9 Song Lam Nghe An is considered to have a balanced force, good technique and proactive attacking style of play. With an “easy” group and careful preparation, the team is expected to go deep and compete for the championship.
