Since the beginning of 2025, Captain Ngo Ly Hung has mobilized the construction of 3 houses for families in difficult circumstances and often sick.

On the morning of August 12, Ms. Lang Thi Phuong - Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tien Dong commune (Nghe An province) said that the unit had just received and held a handover ceremony of 2 gratitude houses that Captain Ngo Ly Hung - Deputy Head of Nghia Dong commune Police mobilized to build for 2 poor households with difficult circumstances in the area.

"A few months ago, when he was surveying the area where he would be working in the new area, Captain Ngo Ly Hung asked the commune to introduce poor families who did not have a house. This is the dream of households in difficult circumstances," Ms. Phuong said, adding that after being introduced, Captain Hung mobilized and urgently built, and to date, two houses have been completed and handed over.

Two families were given new houses, including Mr. Nguyen Van Nguyen's household (Nha Tra hamlet, old Dong Van commune) and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Huong's household (Thung Mon hamlet, old Dong Van commune) - now Tien Dong commune, Nghe An province.

Mr. Nguyen is a Thai ethnic, living in a very difficult situation when his father passed away and his mother became disabled. For a long time, Mr. Nguyen lived with his wife in a makeshift house with a leaky roof. This house has only one room with temporary pillars, and the fibro-cement roof has collapsed. The old Dong Van commune government has repeatedly urged the family to cooperate in building a house when there is support, but the family has not been able to manage and create resources to respond. Therefore, at the end of 2024, Mr. Nguyen's family had to apply to withdraw from the housing support program.

Similarly, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Huong’s family is also in a difficult situation. Her husband suffered a serious stroke and is unable to work. Both of them live in a seriously degraded house, at risk of collapsing, and are also waiting for the local temporary housing demolition program but have not received any corresponding support.

Captain Ngo Ly Hung (32 years old) said that he had just been assigned the position of Deputy Chief of Nghia Dong Commune Police for nearly 2 months. Seeing that people in Tien Dong Commune had more difficult lives, he presented and received support from benefactors to have 100 million VND to build 2 gratitude houses.

"It is difficult to build two houses with 100 million VND, so we and the government mobilized families, relatives, and neighbors to contribute to complete the house. On the morning of August 11, when invited to the new house, the members of the two families were very moved. The amount of money I mobilized was not large, but it helped poor people have a place to live, this is also the responsibility of a people's police officer," said Captain Hung.

Captain Hung graduated from the People's Police Academy and worked for many years at the Tan Ky District Police (old). In 2022, he held the position of Deputy Chief of the Ky Son Police (old). In early 2025, in this commune, he also called for donations to build a house for a poor family.
