Russian special Il-96 flight landed in Alaska
A special flight of Russian Il-96 aircraft landed in Alaska ahead of the US-Russia summit.

According to RIA Novosti, the Flightradar24 portal said that a special Russian flight squadron landed at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport in Alaska on the eve of the summit between leaders Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.
According to the website, the Il-96-300 took off from Vnukovo airport and landed at its destination at around 17:48 (21:48 Hanoi time) on August 14. Then, another Il-96 took off from Moscow to Anchorage.
President Vladimir Putin and President Donald Trump will meet on August 15 at 11:30 a.m. (Alaska time, or 2:30 a.m. on August 16 Hanoi time). The summit will be held at the Elmendorf-Richardson military base.
The main topic of the meeting will be the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, the sides will also exchange views on cooperation between Moscow and Washington. The heads of state will discuss the tasks of ensuring peace and security, issues on the international and regional agenda.
No documents are expected to be signed during the meeting. The leaders will discuss the agreements reached at a joint press conference.
The Russian delegation includes: President Vladimir Putin; Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov; Foreign Policy Advisor Yuri Ushakov; Defense Minister Andrey Belousov; Finance Minister Anton Siluanov; Presidential Special Envoy for Foreign Cooperation and Investment Kirill Dmitriev.
The US delegation included President Donald Trump; Vice President JD Vance; Secretary of State Marco Rubio; Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent; and Special Presidential Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff.
