Today, August 19: Vietnam turns itself into a giant construction site with 250 projects starting and inaugurating.
Today, August 19, 2025, Vietnam is turning into a large construction site with the groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies of 250 projects and works, spanning across 34 provinces and cities.
On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, the Government will hold groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies for 250 projects nationwide on the morning of August 19. The event will be held online and in person at 80 locations across the provinces and cities.
The total investment capital for these projects is up to 1.28 quadrillion VND, including 89 completed projects and 161 newly started projects. The projects span many fields such as transport infrastructure, industry, urban areas, health care, education and agriculture.

These projects are expected to contribute more than 18% of GDP in 2025 and over 20% in the following years. Of the total investment capital, the state budget accounts for 37% (VND 478,000 billion) for 129 projects, the rest is capital from other sources.
According to Deputy Minister of Construction Le Anh Tuan, among the projects are 8 national key projects, 46 group A projects, 155 group B projects and 41 group C projects. The projects using state budget capital will create an important infrastructure foundation, promoting private investment.
Typical projects
Some notable projects include the National Exhibition Center in Dong Anh (Hanoi) by Vingroup - a complex architectural project with super-sized and super-heavy steel structure, completed ahead of schedule.
Viettel's Research and Development Center with an investment capital of VND10,000 billion will focus on high-tech fields such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence and data.
In the health sector, Nghe An Oncology Hospital with 1,000 beds and an investment capital of VND1,259 billion will be inaugurated. In the energy sector, there is Hai Anh Wind Power Plant worth VND1,565 billion.
The Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project connecting Dong Thap and Vinh Long is a testament to the progress of Vietnam's construction industry. Unlike the previous period when foreign consultants had to be hired, this project was entirely designed and constructed by Vietnamese units, and completed 4 months ahead of schedule.
Time and place of the event
The groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies will take place simultaneously at 9 a.m. on August 19. The central bridge is located at the National Exhibition Fair Center (Hanoi), along with other important bridges in Bac Ninh, Nghe An, Quang Tri, Ho Chi Minh City and many other localities.
This event not only celebrates the nation's great holiday but also demonstrates the determination to develop infrastructure and promote the country's economy in the new period.
