How is the September pension payment schedule handled when it coincides with National Day on September 2nd?
Because the September pension payment schedule coincides with National Day on September 2nd, payments will be made from September 3rd to 10th at designated payment points, and will continue until September 25th.
Pension payment schedule for September 2025
According to the Vietnam Social Security, based on Decision 166/QD-BHXH, pension and social insurance benefits for September will begin to be paid from September 3rd, one day later than usual. This is because September 2nd falls on the National Day holiday.
The Hanoi Social Insurance agency also stated that the payment of pensions for September 2025 will be based on Decision 2222/QD-BHXH, which regulates the process for resolving pension entitlement.
Payment method and timing
According to Clause 4, Article 7 of the Procedure issued with Decision 166/QD-BHXH of 2019, pensions and monthly allowances are divided into two stages:
From the 2nd to the 10th of each month:Direct payments are made at transaction points, for a minimum of 6 hours each day.
From the 11th to the 25th of each month:Payments can be made at district post offices.
This September, pension and allowance payments will be transferred to individual accounts no later than September 5th. The Planning and Finance Department will handle the money transfers to beneficiaries.
Pensioners and recipients of social insurance benefits for September 2025 will receive their payments from September 3rd instead of September 2nd, due to the coinciding date with the four-day National Day holiday.
Payments may be processed earlier than September 10th if the entire list has been resolved.
National Day Holiday Schedule 2025
Previously, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (now the Ministry of Interior) announced the National Day holiday schedule for 2025. Accordingly, officials, civil servants, and employees will be on holiday from August 30th (Saturday) to September 2nd (Tuesday). The holiday includes two official public holidays and two weekend days, totaling four days.
