Handling many cases of taking advantage of watching parades and marches for personal gain
In recent days, the police in several wards in the capital have punished many cases of occupying sidewalks to solicit people to buy seats to watch parades and processions.
According to Captain Nguyen Tien Quang, Deputy Chief of Ba Dinh Ward Police, Hanoi, up to this point, Ba Dinh Ward Police have handled 6 cases of sidewalk occupation for business purposes (selling seats), imposing fines of 2.5 million VND/case.
The ward police invited the violators to the headquarters and asked them to sign a commitment not to re-offend. The unit also drew up a record of 15 cases of street vendors with a total fine of 3.375 million VND; 2 cases of illegal vehicle parking with a fine of 12.5 million VND/case.

These days, Ba Dinh Ward Police in coordination with the Ward People's Committee maintain 6 working groups to regularly patrol, control, and handle cases of encroachment on sidewalks for selling goods, especially soliciting to sell seats. At the same time, they propagate and mobilize people to strictly comply with regulations on urban order and preserve the landscape and environment. For businesses on the streets where parades and marches pass by, the Ward Police propagate and remind these households not to increase prices and oppress customers.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Doan To, Deputy Chief of Hoan Kiem Ward Police, in the past few days, on some streets in the ward, where groups in the preliminary parade program passed by such as Trang Tien, Hang Khay, Trang Thi... there was a situation where people gathered to put chairs, spread canvas, and raincoats on the sidewalk to occupy space and solicit to buy and sell seats.
Immediately after learning about this situation, the Ward Police organized propaganda, reminded people to comply with regulations on urban order, and handled 1 case of placing chairs on the sidewalk to invite people to buy seats in the flower garden area of Hoan Kiem Lake. Hoan Kiem Ward Police regularly maintains 3 working groups to patrol, control, remind people and strictly handle violations.

Previously, on the evening of August 27 - the time of the parade rehearsal, according to our records, on many streets such as Hung Vuong, Nguyen Thai Hoc, Trang Thi, Hang Khay..., many people were present to watch the parade. However, besides the image of people lining up according to the instructions of the authorities, there was a situation where some people arranged chairs, spread tarpaulins to reserve seats... to sell at prices ranging from 20,000 VND to 100,000 VND/seat.
