Pepper prices today, August 30, 2025: Continuing to rise.
Today, August 30th, pepper prices are at 151,500 - 153,000 VND/kg, continuously increasing for four consecutive days. Domestic supply is low due to the end of the 2025 harvest.
Domestic pepper prices
Today's pepper prices in key growing regions continued to rise by 1000 to 2000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. As a result, the average domestic pepper price is between 151,500 VND/kg and 153,000 VND/kg.
In the Central Highlands region, today's pepper price in Dak Lak increased by 1000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 153,000 VND/kg.
Today's pepper price in Gia Lai increased by 2000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 151,500 VND/kg.
Today's pepper price in Lam Dong (formerly Dak Nong) increased by 1000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 153,000 VND/kg.
In the Southeast region, today's pepper price in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Ba Ria - Vung Tau) is 152,000 VND/kg, an increase of 2,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Dong Nai also saw an increase of 2,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, reaching 152,000 VND/kg.
Additionally, today's pepper price in Dong Nai (formerly Binh Phuoc) increased by 2000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently standing at 152,000 VND/kg.
Domestic pepper prices continued their upward trend for the fourth consecutive day since the beginning of the week, rising by approximately 2,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. This trend is supported by gradually shrinking supply and the decline of the US dollar, creating favorable conditions for year-end trading.
The last days of August witnessed a sharp increase in pepper prices, pushing prices in key regions such as the Central Highlands and Southeast Vietnam to 151,500 - 153,000 VND/kg, the highest in many months. This fluctuation is the result of many factors, both domestic and international.
One significant reason is that domestic supply is shrinking considerably as the 2025 harvest has ended. Many farmers no longer have produce to sell, forcing businesses and traders to actively purchase it, driving prices up.
Export demand is also showing clear signs of recovery, especially from traditional markets such as the US and Europe. The stabilization of international shipping costs has helped increase the competitiveness of Vietnamese pepper. Many importers are willing to pay higher prices to secure supply, fearing that shortages may persist.
Global pepper price trends also contributed to the upward trend. Pepper prices in Brazil and some other producing countries tended to rise, and high-value varieties such as Vietnamese white pepper also recorded price increases.
Amidst increasingly scarce domestic supply and rising export orders, pepper prices are forecast to remain high and may exceed 153,000 VND/kg in the near future.

On the world market, based on quotations from exporting companies and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) has updated the prices of various types of pepper traded on the international market on August 29th (local time) as follows:
Indonesian Lampung black pepper prices fell slightly compared to yesterday, reaching US$7,216/ton (down 0.64%). Additionally, Muntok white pepper prices also decreased slightly compared to yesterday, reaching US$10,028/ton (down 0.65%).
Brazilian ASTA black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at $6,400 per ton.
Malaysian ASTA black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at US$9,600/tonne. Similarly, ASTA white pepper prices also remained unchanged from yesterday at US$12,800/tonne.
Prices for all types of Vietnamese pepper remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Specifically, the price of Vietnamese black pepper (500 gr/l) reached US$6,240/ton; and the price of black pepper (550 gr/l) reached US$6,370/ton.
In addition, the price of Vietnamese white pepper remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,150 per ton.
