The Vietnam Football Federation (VFV) has agreed not to allow athlete Dang Thi Hong to participate in the second phase of the 2025 National Championship; Striker Lionel Messi has just added another title to his collection. These are the outstanding sports news in the past 24 hours.

Dang Thi Hong was unexpectedly banned from competing domestically after the world championship.

According to information from the meeting on September 11, the Vietnam Badminton Federation (VFV) agreed not to allow athlete Dang Thi Hong to participate in the second phase of the 2025 National Championship. In addition, from this point on, the 19-year-old player is not allowed to participate in tournaments in the official system of the Vietnam Badminton Federation.

This is a surprising decision because VFV previously said that Dang Thi Hong's penalty at the U21 World Cup was still unclear. Up to this point, VFV is still waiting for an announcement from the World Football Federation.

Thus, Dang Thi Hong will not be allowed to compete until further notice from VFV. Regarding the reason for banning this athlete from competing, VFV refused to comment, however, an official of this organization confirmed that from 2026, the issue of gender testing for athletes will be strictly implemented.
