According to RIA Novosti, on September 12, Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abderrahman Al Thani said at a meeting of the United Nations Security Council convened in connection with Israel's airstrikes on Qatar that Israel is trying to pressure the region to change.

"Israel is showing arrogant behavior by believing that it can take any action. It constantly disrupts the stability of the region and tries to change the region by force, supporting extremist ideologies," Qatari Prime Minister Al Thani said at a meeting of the United Nations Security Council.

Also at the meeting, Israel's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Danny Danon, said that his country had agreed to the US proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza, while Hamas refused.

Earlier on September 9, Israel carried out a series of airstrikes on homes in a residential area in Doha - where a delegation of Hamas leaders was negotiating the latest ceasefire proposal for the Gaza Strip.

The attack killed a member of the state's internal security agency and injured several others, along with the son of Hamas leader in the Gaza Strip, Humam al-Haya, and the head of his office, according to Qatar's interior ministry.

In a related development, Politico quoted a reliable source as saying that on September 12, Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abderrahman Al Thani will visit Washington to discuss Israel's airstrikes on his country's territory and the status of ceasefire negotiations in the Gaza Strip.

The Qatari prime minister is expected to meet with US President Donald Trump, US Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff.
