The labor market in Nghe An is currently becoming more active in the electricity and electronics sector. Enterprises are not only boosting production to take advantage of the economic recovery, but are also accelerating recruitment to meet the demand for expanding production and exports. However, the shortage of skilled labor remains a major challenge.

High recruitment demand in September

Innovative Manufacturing Solutions VietNam, a Korean-invested enterprise specializing in manufacturing electronic components, located in VSIP Industrial Park, is looking to recruit more than 100 workers in the electrical and electronic industries. In addition to prioritizing the recruitment of trained and experienced people, the company will also recruit unskilled workers with salaries ranging from 7-8 million VND/person/month.

Having participated in the Job Fair with the hope of recruiting human resources for 2025 and the following years, however, by September, Innovative Company was still "starving for labor".

Mr. Nguyen Van Manh - in charge of human resources of the company said: "From the beginning of the year, we have posted a recruitment notice for 1,500 skilled workers and high-quality workers, and hope that vocational school students with majors in Electricity and Electronics will join us. However, although we have registered for career guidance for vocational training units, the company has not yet recruited many workers. In fact, we are short of workers all year round, but in August and September, we need all our strength to complete orders, so we urgently post recruitment notices, hoping to have enough human resources for the peak period."

Also in need of workers is Luxshare ICT, a manufacturer of electronic components and products, including consumer devices, communications equipment, auto parts, and computer components for major brands such as Apple, Samsung, Lenovo, Sony, Asus, and Huawei. By 2025, the company plans to recruit up to 25,000 jobs with salaries ranging from VND5.9 million to VND10 million per month, but so far it is still "hungry" for unskilled and skilled workers.

The difficulty of this unit is that many generations of workers come to work but take time off because... it's harvest time or family matters. A company representative said: "Usually, unskilled workers over 25 years old residing locally tend to only work for the company when the farming season is off. If it's harvest or planting season, they ask for 5-7 days off. That is a taboo in an industrially disciplined working environment."

According to the report of the Department of Labor, Employment, and Labor Market in the third quarter of 2025, the demand for labor recruitment in the electricity and electronics industry increased by more than 30% compared to the same period in 2024. Large corporations such as Samsung, LG, Foxconn, Intel... continuously posted recruitment notices for electronics technicians, assembly workers, quality control workers, and electrical and automation engineers. Enterprises are in the final stages of completing orders for partners, so the demand for labor recruitment is very large. This is a very encouraging sign for the health of enterprises as well as the labor market.

Not only manufacturing enterprises, many supporting companies in the electronics supply chain are also expanding recruitment to anticipate new investment projects. However, the reality is that many enterprises are "thirsty" for skilled workers.

According to a survey by the Center for Human Resource Demand Forecasting, currently more than 50% of technician positions require workers to have an intermediate or college degree in electricity - electronics or have practical experience operating automated production lines.

In September 2025, businesses registering for recruitment at the Provincial Employment Service Center's Job Exchange will need 7,500 jobs for industries such as electricity, electronics, textiles, footwear, wood processing, etc. Of which, the industry in greatest need is electricity and electronics, which needs 5,000 jobs.

Great demand in the future

According to labor and employment experts, the electricity and electronics industry will continue to be the “locomotive” of the economy in the next 5-10 years, with recruitment demand constantly increasing. This is a great opportunity for Nghe An’s young workforce.

If properly trained in technology and skills in the field of automation, workers can easily find stable jobs with attractive income. However, in addition to skills and expertise, businesses today also pay special attention to proficient candidates. Technical software, able to use basic foreign languages (English or Korean).

As mentioned, although the recruitment market is improving, the shortage of skilled labor is still a concern for many businesses. According to some experts, the gap between labor supply and demand will continue if the vocational education system does not promptly adjust training programs to suit actual needs.

Businesses also have concerns. For example, a representative of Innovative Manufacturing Solutions VietNam, a company specializing in the production and assembly of electronic components, said: "We need a large number of vocational school graduates majoring in Electricity and Electronics. We have incentives in salary and bonus policies, and even dormitories for workers living far away, but we still cannot recruit many workers." The representative of this company also recommended that the State should have more policies to encourage investment in vocational training for the electronics and automation fields.

Graduates majoring in Electricity and Electronics often choose enterprises in Binh Duong and Dong Nai because of better income, or if they enter enterprises in the province, they often choose large companies such as Vinamilk, TH... and rarely choose industrial parks. The reason is because the salary they receive is from 9-10 million VND, many workers also have to pay for travel and accommodation costs... because in reality, the number of dormitories built is still much lower than the demand.

Mr. Ho Van Dam - Principal of Vietnam - Korea Technical College

Mr. Ho Van Dam also said that the most important thing is for businesses to further promote their remuneration policies and create the best working environment to attract more skilled workers.
