Honda CUV e: high-end electric motorbike for rent only in Vietnam
Honda CUV e: was introduced in Vietnam with a completely new approach by not selling directly but implementing a rental form. Users have to pay about 1.5 million VND per month and pay in advance for a 6-month package, similar to the vehicle sharing model that is popular in many countries. This method helps customers easily experience electric motorbikes without having to spend a large amount of money at the beginning, suitable for those who have short-term needs or want to try before committing long-term.

In terms of design, the Honda CUV e: has a minimalist yet modern style, with many sharp angular lines creating a high-end feel. The car is equipped with an electric motor with a rated capacity of 4.2 kW and a maximum of 6 kW, ensuring flexible operation in both urban and suburban areas. The 7-inch TFT screen clearly displays information, integrated with Roadsync Duo allowing phone connection via Bluetooth for navigation, listening to music and receiving calls. The utility is also upgraded with Smart Key, remote location and unlocking features.
Another highlight is the CUV e: it uses two removable, easily swappable Honda Mobile Power Pack e lithium batteries and comes with a safety locking mechanism. With this series of equipment, the model is positioned in the high-end urban electric vehicle segment. However, the policy of only leasing instead of selling makes many consumers cautious, because the habit of owning motorbikes in Vietnam is still very strong.
Along with CUV e:, Honda also launched ICON e: – a model aimed at mainstream customers such as students with low initial costs and flexible battery rental. It can be seen that the company is testing two different business models: car rental and battery rental. In the context of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and many large cities promoting "green" transportation and gradually limiting gasoline-powered vehicles, this strategy is expected to open a new direction for the electric motorbike market. However, Honda's level of success will depend largely on the actual feedback of Vietnamese consumers.
