Nghe An: 1,517 schools deploy legal education and life skills models

On September 17, the People's Committee of Nghe An province held a conference to review the model of "Educating awareness of law compliance and life skills in schools", connecting online to local police points.

Attending the conference on behalf of the Ministry of Public Security was Major General Phan Manh Truong - Deputy Director of the Criminal Police Department, Ministry of Public Security.

Nghe An province, comrades: Bui Thanh An - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Colonel Tran Ngoc Tuan - Member of the Party Standing Committee, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police; Ho Thi Chau Loan - Deputy Director of the Nghe An Department of Education and Training co-chaired the conference, together with representatives of relevant departments, branches, unions, heads of functional departments of wards and communes and representatives of the Board of Directors of schools in the province.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Colonel Tran Ngoc Tuan - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police emphasized that this is a comprehensive model with many fundamental, practical, meaningful and highly feasible measures and solutions, deployed synchronously and uniformly from the province to the grassroots.

According to the report, after more than 1 year of implementation, the whole province has achieved many positive results. All 21 districts, cities and towns (old) have issued plans to replicate the model; 460 communes, wards and towns (old) have brought this content to each educational institution; 1,517 schools have officially implemented it; up to now, after implementing the 2-level local government, 130/130 communes and wards in Nghe An continue to maintain and effectively implement the model. Not only cadres, teachers, students but also parents and business households around the school have signed a commitment to comply with the law and build a safe and healthy school cultural environment.

In fact, the model has contributed to reducing the number of law violations among students, and at the same time, limiting the number of children dying from drowning. Many creative methods have also been implemented such as organizing "mock trials", programs to experience life skills, skills to deal with dangerous situations, etc., attracting a large number of students to participate.

At the conference, delegates presented papers, focusing on sharing good and creative practices in the process of implementing the model; at the same time, based on the difficulties and problems, proposed solutions to improve efficiency and replicate the model in the coming time.

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Bui Thanh An - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and commended the efforts of departments, branches and localities. He hoped that the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Education and Training would continue to pay attention to directing, creating all conditions, and accompanying Nghe An province in education, training and building an increasingly better school culture. Departments, branches and sectors would continue to closely coordinate with the Provincial Police and the Department of Education and Training to resolutely and effectively implement tasks and solutions so that the model in the coming time "must be alive, must be substantial, must be effective".

In addition, continue to resolutely and more effectively implement solutions to implement the model in the 2025-2026 school year, diversifying content and methods so that legal education and life skills activities become a regular task in schools. Police units, localities, and educational institutions do a good job of informing and propagating the results of the model implementation, in which, thoroughly utilizing the effectiveness of social networking sites to contribute to gradually turning the model activities into regular and disciplined work in schools across the province.

At the conference, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 3 groups and 3 individuals; the Provincial Police Director awarded Certificates of Merit to 10 groups and 10 individuals and the Department of Education and Training Director awarded Certificates of Merit to 6 individuals with outstanding achievements in the process of consulting and implementing the model.
