Nghe An practices fire fighting and rescue plan in 2025
On the morning of September 18, at Vinh International Airport, the Provincial People's Committee organized a fire fighting and rescue plan drill in 2025.
Attending the exercise were comrade Bui Thanh An - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue, representatives of departments, branches and local authorities.

In recent years, fire prevention, fire fighting, rescue and relief work has always received the attention of the Party, State, Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, all levels, sectors and people; thereby, mobilizing the combined strength of the entire political system and the entire population to participate in fire prevention, fire fighting, rescue and relief work.
Along with the development of socio-economy and urbanization, the rapid increase of commercial centers, urban areas, industrial zones, high-rise buildings, the development of traffic infrastructure, airports, and seaports always poses a high risk of fire and explosion.
Therefore, practicing fire fighting, rescue and relief plans is a very important factor and content to be proactive in fire prevention and fighting, enhance the capacity and readiness of forces to handle fires and explosions, contribute to the success in preventing large fires, minimizing damage to people and property.
Through practice to improve command and control capacity in firefighting tactics and coordination of operations of many participating forces, ensuring close compliance with practical requirements.

Based on practical requirements, on June 19, 2025, the Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 468/KH-UBND, directing Nghe An Provincial Police to preside over and coordinate with relevant forces to deploy a provincial-level firefighting and rescue exercise in 2025 at Vinh International Airport.
This is an important traffic hub of the North Central region and Nghe An province, playing a role in promoting the economy, tourism and international connection, with the characteristics of continuous operation, many modern technical equipment and high concentration of people and goods, the risk of fire and explosion is always present. The scale of Vinh International Airport is currently continuing to be upgraded and expanded, the number of passengers, goods, technical equipment...
In the coming time, after completing the renovation and upgrading, there will be an even greater need to ensure absolute safety in fire prevention, fire fighting, and rescue. If a fire or explosion occurs, it will potentially cause great damage to the lives, health, and property of businesses and people, and even cause great economic, political, social, and environmental impacts in the province.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the forces participating in the exercise to promote their skills and tactics in fire fighting, rescue, and first aid; with a sense of responsibility, solidarity, and close coordination; ensure absolute safety for people and vehicles participating, and excellently complete the goals and requirements set forth by the Provincial People's Committee and the Steering Committee.
“Firefighting and rescue is an extremely difficult and complicated task that requires urgency, accurate information reception and processing, timely and effective implementation of firefighting and rescue with the motto: "Golden seconds, golden minutes, golden hours"; "Determined to fight, determined to win, ready to fight with all your might for the peace and happiness of the people" - the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized.
At the scene, the situation was as follows: At 8:15 a.m., a fire broke out in the conveyor belt area of the domestic terminal of Vinh International Airport, which then spread to the first and second floors. At this time, there were about 600 passengers and staff working in the terminal.
Immediately, the Aviation Security Force and Nghe An Provincial Police were present with local forces to carry out fire fighting, rescue, and asset relocation and ensure security and order in the area where the fire occurred, and at the same time notify the 114 Command Information Center. Upon receiving the news, the leaders of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department - Provincial Police mobilized professional forces and vehicles to promptly arrive at the scene to rescue victims and put out the fire.
With close coordination between units and effective combination of vehicles, the forces quickly guided escape, searched and rescued and completely extinguished the fire in a short time.
The 2025 provincial firefighting and rescue exercise has achieved many important results, especially for specialized firefighting forces, grassroots firefighting forces and related forces to master the content, skills, firefighting tactics, coordination, and combat coordination proficiently, promptly and effectively.
Besides, through this exercise, it also contributes to spreading the spirit of vigilance and seriously implementing fire fighting, rescue and relief work to businesses, units and people of all walks of life in the province.
