Nghe An deploys defense drill plan for Van An area in 2025
On the afternoon of September 18, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to deploy the plan to organize a regional defense exercise for the Regional Defense Command 1 - Van An in 2025.

Prepare well for quality rehearsal conditions
In 2025, Nghe An was assigned by the Military Region IV Command to organize a regional defense exercise for the Regional Defense Command 1 - Van An as a model and to gain experience for deployment throughout the Military Region.
Based on the tasks assigned by the IV Military Region Command, the Provincial Military Command - the standing agency of the Provincial Regional Defense Exercise Steering Committee in 2025, has developed a plan to organize a regional defense exercise for the Regional Defense Command in Region 1 - Van An in 2025 based on studying the directive documents of the Ministry of National Defense and the IV Military Region, in conjunction with the practical situation arising in the context of implementing a two-level government.
The exercise has the following theme: Moving the Regional Defense Command into combat readiness states, moving localities into defense states; organizing preparations and practicing operations, firmly protecting regional defense and defense zones.
The exercise was conducted in three phases. Specifically, phase 1, put the Regional Defense Command into combat readiness; put localities into defense status. Phase 2, organize preparations for defensive operations. Phase 3, practice operations.

To implement the 2025 regional defense exercise plan, the Provincial Military Command has directed the Regional Defense Command Board 1 - Van An to organize the construction and repair of the exercise command post; survey the positions of the soldiers; prepare forces, vehicles and facilities; organize the assignment of specific tasks to agencies, units and localities participating in the exercise to ensure proper procedures... The Regional Defense Exercise 1 - Van An in 2025 is expected to take place in October 2025.
Also this afternoon, the Provincial People's Committee also listened to and gave opinions on the Project "Organizing forces, ensuring the activities of the standing militia and building new, renovating, upgrading and repairing the headquarters of the Military Command of communes and wards for the period 2026 - 2030 in Nghe An province".
Focus on implementing quality tasks
Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Bui Thanh An - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for the exercise emphasized: The fact that the IV Military Command chose Nghe An to organize the pilot exercise is both an honor, a responsibility, and a challenge in the situation of operating a two-level government. Therefore, the Provincial Steering Committee for the exercise is required to focus on implementing and guiding departments, branches, and localities to organize tight and quality preparation work.
In particular, it is important to fully mobilize forces and means to participate in the drill, proactively survey the drill locations, prepare leadership documents, direct and manage the drill in accordance with regulations; at the same time, organize training to prepare for participating in the live drill to ensure quality and safety.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested the Provincial Military Command and the Defense Command of Region 1 - Van An to thoroughly disseminate to the cadres, armed forces and people the purpose, requirements and importance of the exercise, enhance the responsibility of the participating forces, and promote the combined strength of the entire political system to ensure the most effective exercise.
Regarding the draft Project "Organizing forces, ensuring the operation of the standing militia and building new, renovating, upgrading and repairing the headquarters of the Military Command of communes and wards in the period of 2026 - 2030 in Nghe An province"; The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed the necessity of issuing the project; at the same time, requested the Provincial Military Command to coordinate with the Department of Home Affairs to review the apparatus of the Military Command of communes and wards to continue to consolidate the quantity and improve the quality, especially the special and border units.
Regarding the proposal to build new, renovate, upgrade and repair the headquarters of the Military Command of communes and wards, comrade Bui Thanh An requested localities and units to carefully review the surplus facilities in the area to renovate and put into use. Localities that propose to build new headquarters must sign a commitment that there is no surplus facilities in the area to avoid wasting resources. The construction, renovation, upgrade and repair of the headquarters of the Military Command of communes and wards must be completed in 2028, of which the 21 border communes must be completed in 2026.
