Nghe An discovered more than 4,000 moon cakes of unknown origin.

Through the inspection process, the Department of Investigation Police on Crimes of Corruption, Economy and Smuggling (Department of Economic Police) of Nghe An Provincial Police presided over and coordinated with Traffic Police Team No. 4 (Traffic Police Department) and Market Management Team No. 3, Nghe An Market Management Department to continuously detect and handle moon cake businesses that violated the law in Truong Vinh and Vinh Phu wards.

On September 17, the Economic Police Department of Nghe An Provincial Police presided over and coordinated with Traffic Police Team No. 4 (Traffic Police Department) and Market Management Team No. 3, Nghe An Market Management Department to simultaneously inspect moon cake businesses in the area. Through the inspection, the authorities discovered and handled 2 businesses selling smuggled moon cakes of unknown origin.

Specifically, at around 4:45 p.m., the authorities conducted an inspection at a business located on Cao Xuan Huy Street (Truong Vinh Ward, Nghe An Province) owned by Le Thi Thu Th. (born in 1994), residing in Thanh Vinh Ward, Nghe An Province. During the inspection, the authorities discovered 51 crates and 25 boxes inside the business containing various types of moon cakes.

Then, at about 4:05 p.m., the authorities conducted an inspection at a business located on Nguyen Van Cu Street (Truong Vinh Ward, Nghe An Province) owned by Ms. Pham Thi Th. (born in 1989), residing in Vinh Phu Ward. During the inspection, the authorities discovered 450 boxes (containing medium and small moon cakes) inside the business with unknown origins (foreign characters were printed on the packaging).

The total number of moon cakes at the two establishments was 4,174. At the time of inspection, the owners of these establishments could not present any invoices or documents. During the investigation, the owners of the two establishments admitted that the moon cakes were purchased illegally on the market, without invoices or documents, and of unknown origin (foreign words were printed on the packaging), with the purpose of selling them on the market at high prices to make a profit.

The inspection team has drawn up a record and temporarily detained all goods for further handling in accordance with the provisions of law.
