Northern Vietnam, Thanh Hoa, and Nghe An provinces are forecast to experience heavy to very heavy rain from the night of September 24th until the end of September 25th.

As of 10 PM on September 23rd, the storm's center was located approximately 550km east of the Leizhou Peninsula (China). The strongest winds near the storm's center reached levels 15-16, with gusts exceeding level 17. The forecast for the next three hours indicates the storm will move west-northwest at a speed of approximately 20km per hour.

Forecast of heavy rain and dangerous weather phenomena.

Northern Vietnam, Thanh Hoa, and Nghe An are forecast to experience heavy to very heavy rain from the night of September 24th until the end of September 25th. Rainfall amounts are expected to range from 50 to 100mm, with some areas potentially exceeding 200mm. The risk of very intense rainfall in a short period is very high.

Tonight (September 23rd), scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely in the Northwest region, Tuyen Quang, and from Thanh Hoa to Quang Tri. During thunderstorms, people should be wary of the possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.

Natural disaster risk warning

Heavy rain is forecast to continue from the night of September 25th to the end of the night of September 26th. The total accumulated rainfall in the coming days could range from 100 to 250mm, and in some places even exceed 400mm.

Such continuous heavy rainfall poses numerous risks, including flooding in low-lying areas, flash floods in small rivers and streams, and landslides in hilly and mountainous regions.

The current level of natural disaster risk is classified as level 1. Residents in the aforementioned areas should closely monitor updated information and proactively take preventive measures.
