At the upcoming Nghe An Province Patriotic Emulation Congress for the period 2020 - 2025, lecturer Nguyen Quoc Cuong, Faculty of Automotive Technology - Vietnam - Germany College Nghe An, is one of the typical faces of the university and college block to be honored. With passion, sense of responsibility and constant creativity, he has affirmed himself as a "professional instigator" for the generation of students.

From career destiny to passion to inspire

Born in 1996, graduated from the Department of Automotive Engineering Technology of Vinh University of Technical Education, Nguyen Quoc Cuong had many opportunities to work in large enterprises. However, he chose a different path for himself - standing on the podium, becoming a vocational lecturer.

"When training a good worker, you contribute to creating value for both the business and society," he shared about his decision to pursue a career in vocational education.

Since his student days, Cuong has found joy in guiding his juniors in practice. The sessions of disassembling and assembling engines, explaining the principles of vehicle operation... have instilled in him the desire to become a teacher. After graduating, he officially worked at the Faculty of Automotive Technology, Vietnam - Germany College, Nghe An, starting the journey of instilling the spirit of the profession in generations of students.

In the early days of teaching, the biggest difficulty for Mr. Cuong was his lack of teaching experience. “Vocational students need clear, easy-to-understand instructions that are linked to practice. I learned from colleagues, attended training courses, and most importantly, listened to feedback from my students. Each lesson was an adjustment to improve,” he recalled.

One memory that the teacher always mentions is the first practical class. At that time, he and his students disassembled and assembled a car engine in the workshop. At first, many students were shy, afraid of damaging the machine. The teacher patiently guided and encouraged: "No one becomes a good worker just by standing and watching. Be bold and do it, correct mistakes, the important thing is to understand the nature." After only a few sessions, the classroom atmosphere was bustling, with laughter mixed with the sound of mechanical tools hitting. "The moment I saw my students engrossed in the engine, I knew I had chosen the right path," the teacher shared.

Constantly improving himself, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong quickly affirmed his ability. In 2020, the young lecturer won the first prize at the school-level teaching competition and the second prize at the provincial level. Notably, in 2021, at the National Vocational Education Teachers' Teaching Competition, he excellently won the third prize. That achievement is not only a testament to the dedication of a young lecturer but also a motivation for him to continue to be creative and innovative in his profession.

What keeps Mr. Cuong on the podium is not the certificates of merit, but the maturity of his students. He confided: “The greatest joy is seeing the students, from the first day of confusion, after 3 years, become solid technicians, highly appreciated by businesses. That is the greatest reward for a vocational teacher.”

Dedicated to students, devoted to career

As a vocational instructor, Mr. Cuong always believes: "Learning goes hand in hand with doing." According to the vocational training structure, about 70% of the time is spent on practice, 30% on theory. In each lesson, he always creates conditions for students to directly operate and practice vocational skills right on equipment and machines. From lessons on disassembling and assembling engines, car electrical systems, to diagnosing and troubleshooting, students all have practical experience under the teacher's meticulous guidance.

Along with that, one of the outstanding marks of Mr. Cuong is a series of initiatives and self-made teaching models. Together with his colleagues, he has researched and successfully developed many practical devices such as "electric motorbike electrical system model", "automobile hydraulic brake model", or "automobile air conditioning model". These products not only help the lessons become more intuitive and vivid but also won high prizes at provincial and national training equipment competitions.

Not only dedicated to the lecture stage, Mr. Cuong is also a companion, inspiring students to start a business. He has guided many start-up projects that have won high prizes: From "Multi-purpose plowing machine" which won first prize at the school level, third prize at the provincial level, to "Tea processing machine using clean energy", or most recently "Motorbike and electric vehicle maintenance and repair service - 24H Rescue".

In particular, the project "Rescue 24H" in 2025 by the teacher's student group won the second prize in the final round of the National Student Startup Idea Competition, and was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Minister of Education and Training - a source of pride not only for teachers and students but also for the school and the province.

Not only working hard in the classroom, Mr. Cuong also actively participates in union, sports, and arts activities, contributing to building a united and friendly working environment. For many years, he has been recognized as a grassroots Emulation Fighter, receiving Certificates of Merit from ministries, branches, and localities.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong's enthusiasm and creativity make students more interested in the profession. Not only that, he is also one of the typical young faces, contributing to improving the quality of training and affirming the prestige and brand of the school in the vocational education system of Nghe An province.

Mr. Cao Anh Tuan - Vice Principal of Vietnam - Germany College Nghe An

Selected as a typical example to attend the Patriotic Emulation Congress of Nghe An province, Mr. Cuong humbly shared: "This is not only a recognition for me personally, but also a common reward for the Faculty of Automotive Technology, Vietnam - Germany College of Nghe An and all generations of students who have worked hard with me."

For more than 7 years in the classroom, Nguyen Quoc Cuong - a young and enthusiastic teacher - has proven that vocational teachers not only impart knowledge and train skills, but also give students confidence and determination to step into life. From the lecture hall of Nghe An Vietnamese - German College, the flame of passion for the profession that he lit continues to spread, contributing to building a team of quality technical workers, meeting the requirements of economic and social development of his homeland Nghe An.
