Leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade inspect the repair of power outages after Typhoon No. 10.

The delegation inspected the Hung Dong 220kV Substation - one of the four 220kV substations in the province that experienced problems due to Typhoon No. 10.

Mr. Ho Ngoc Toan, Deputy Director of Nghe An Power Transmission Company, who directly supervised the unit, stated that at approximately 6:00 AM on September 29th, Typhoon BUALOI (Typhoon No. 10) severely impacted the power transmission grid in the province, causing power outages at 4 out of 5 substations (Hung Dong, Do Luong, Tuong Duong, and Nam Cam). Additionally, it affected off-line power supply to the 220kV Do Luong and Nam Cam substations, as well as the Hung Dong - Ha Tinh double-circuit 220kV line. The Nghe An Power Transmission team promptly addressed and rectified the grid issues, and by 9:00 AM the same day, all substations were fully repaired and put back into operation, meeting the electricity supply needs of the province.

In addition, the delegation inspected the post-typhoon No. 10 impact on the power distribution grid in the former Nghi Loc area – which suffered heavy damage. Mr. Le Quang Thanh, Deputy Director of Nghe An Power Company, said: "In the former Nghi Loc area alone, about 200 power poles were damaged, and in the former Nam Dan area, about 80 poles were damaged. For the former Vinh City area, the inventory and data are still being updated…”.

According to a preliminary report from Nghe An Power Company, Typhoon No. 10 severely impacted the power infrastructure in Nghe An province. In the medium-voltage grid, 5 transformers were damaged, 3 suspended substations collapsed, 258 poles were damaged (157 broken, 101 tilted or cracked), over 5,100 meters of power lines were broken, and many other assets were damaged. In the low-voltage grid, 578 poles were damaged (468 broken, 110 cracked), nearly 15 km of power lines were broken, 1,000 meters and 600 meter boxes were damaged, along with many other auxiliary items…

To date, Nghe An Power Company is mobilizing maximum resources to comprehensively implement the restoration of the affected power grid in the area. Accordingly, 37 out of 41 110kV power lines have been restored, and all 16 out of 16 substations are back in operation. However, the situation in the medium and low voltage power grids remains extremely difficult: only 35 out of 7,957 substations and 29 out of 172 power lines have been restored.

During the inspection, Mr. Pham Van Hoa, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, highly appreciated the sense of responsibility shown by the electricity sector in recent days and requested that they continue to mobilize maximum manpower and resources, carry out construction urgently but with absolute safety, and quickly restore the power grid system to ensure stable living conditions for the people and meet the production and business needs in the area.

Notably, many power sector teams from other provinces and cities are currently rushing to Nghe An to provide support. This timely and responsible assistance not only helps alleviate the burden on the locality but also demonstrates the spirit of solidarity and compassion throughout the industry. This is a great source of encouragement for the forces directly involved in resolving the incident, further strengthening their determination to quickly restore electricity to serve the people.
