On their wedding day, the bride's house was completely submerged in floodwaters, so the groom asked someone to convert a trailer into a wedding car to transport the bride through the flood.

On October 2nd, a unique wedding procession took place in Con Song hamlet, Bich Hao commune, for the young couple Tran Dinh Hoan and Tran Thi My Hanh.

The bride, Tran Thi My Hanh, lives in the former Thanh Tung commune. After Typhoon No. 10, the entire area where she lives was submerged in floodwaters, almost completely cut off from surrounding areas. Even close to the wedding day, the floodwaters showed no signs of receding. Many people worried about how the groom would be able to pick up his bride.

With encouragement from his family, groom Tran Dinh Hoan, from Ha Tinh province, decided to make his wedding procession a special memory by using a homemade cart as the wedding vehicle. The groom himself would pull the cart carrying the bride through the flooded area to reach the Ho Chi Minh Highway on her way to his family's home.

Very quickly, the cart was beautifully decorated with flowers by his brothers and friends. On the morning of October 2nd, the groom, dressed in a suit and wading pants, personally carried the cart across the flooded road to the bride's house for the wedding ceremony.

The image of the groom carrying the bride on a makeshift vehicle through the flooded road delighted many people. Everyone wished the couple well, hoping they would have a memorable experience in their lives.

According to Hung Hoan, a relative of the bride, the groom's idea of turning a homemade trailer into a wedding car was well-received, and everyone quickly pitched in to help. Although the flooded road wasn't too deep, only the homemade trailer ensured the bride wouldn't get wet. "Neighbors, friends, and family were all delighted by this unique wedding procession in the flooded area," Hoan shared, adding that the couple works in Dong Nai. Before the floods, the two families had already held engagement ceremonies.

Earlier, on September 30th, a unique wedding ceremony took place in Bich Hao commune between bride Pham Thi Trang and groom Dau Trung Duc. Because Bich Hao commune was submerged in floodwaters, the groom used a homemade cart to transport the bride amidst the laughter, cheers, and blessings of the villagers and neighbors.

Bich Hao was formed by merging the communes of Thanh Tung, Thanh Xuan, Mai Giang, and Thanh Lam from the former Thanh Chuong district. It is a frequently flooded area. The people of Bich Hao are accustomed to living with floods and remain optimistic in the face of the difficulties and harshness of natural disasters. After Typhoon No. 10, floodwaters from upstream poured in, inundating hamlets within the commune. Bich Hao was completely cut off from surrounding areas, with over 500 households severely affected. Prior to that, after Typhoon No. 5, Bich Hao was also isolated due to flooding.
