Nghe An mobilizes all forces to overcome damage after storm No. 10
Although storm No. 10 has caused a lot of damage in many fields, localities, branches, units and people of Nghe An are urgently joining hands to overcome the consequences, quickly stabilize life and production.

According to the report of the Civil Defense Command of Nghe An province, by October 2, storm No. 10 had caused damage in many areas.
Regarding people and houses, storm No. 10 claimed the lives of 4 people and injured 14 others in many localities. In addition, the whole province had 74 houses completely collapsed, more than 1,500 houses were damaged by landslides, more than 61,000 houses had their roofs blown off and 57,711 meters of fences collapsed.

In the education sector, the province recorded 45 flooded schools, of which 30 schools have not been repaired. Up to 332 schools had their roofs blown off or damaged, with more than 1,100 classrooms and a series of teaching equipment damaged.
The health sector also suffered losses when 37 medical facilities had their roofs blown off or were damaged, directly affecting medical examination, treatment and epidemic prevention after the storm.

Regarding agricultural production, the whole province had up to 4,656 hectares of rice, 7,864 hectares of vegetables, 7,923 hectares of perennial trees damaged, along with 45,661 hectares of forest and more than 69,000 trees broken.
In livestock, nearly 400,000 poultry and more than 1,200 cattle were swept away or died, thousands of barns were damaged. In addition, more than 8,500 hectares of fish farms, 245 hectares of shrimp farms and dozens of cages were also damaged.

Regarding the irrigation system, storm No. 10 caused landslides of nearly 500m of sea dyke, more than 1,000m of embankment and more than 26,000m of intra-field canals. Many pumping stations, sluices and small dams were damaged, seriously affecting flood control work.
Regarding transportation, the storm caused 29 traffic jams on national and provincial highways, and more than 150 local flooding points on local roads. Many bridges were washed away, more than 19 km of roads were eroded, making travel, transporting goods and providing relief extremely difficult.

Regarding industry, the whole province had more than 4,000 broken electric poles, nearly 82 km of broken electric wires, many damaged transformer stations, causing hundreds of thousands of households to lose power for many days.
Other cultural, social and infrastructure works: 70 People's Committee headquarters, 95 hamlet cultural houses, 20 central markets, 22 warehouses, workshops and tens of thousands of square meters of corrugated iron roofs were blown off.
Estimated total damage to the whole province after the storm is 2,120 billion VND.
Total effort to overcome and stabilize life
According to data from the Nghe An Province Civil Defense Command updated to October 2, after storm No. 10 made landfall, tens of thousands of officers, soldiers and local forces were mobilized to protect people and overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
The Provincial Military Command deployed nearly 28,000 people, more than 160 cars and 56 rescue boats to evacuate people, support transporting assets and clearing the flow.

The provincial police also mobilized all its forces with more than 4,200 commune-level police officers and soldiers, along with more than 11,000 grassroots security team members to go to the locality to support the people. In addition, more than 550 officers and soldiers from the provincial police departments are ready to support 23 mountainous and coastal communes.
The Electricity Industry has launched a large-scale campaign. Nghe An Electricity Company has assigned leaders to closely monitor each locality, and at the same time, received support from 687 employees of 9 other provincial electricity companies. Thanks to that, the work of counting and handling power grid incidents has been carried out urgently, gradually restoring power supply to key areas.

The Information and Telecommunications sector has also made every effort to maintain communication. VNPT, Viettel and other enterprises have mobilized about 700 personnel from neighboring provinces to support and overcome the situation of signal loss, broken poles, collapsed stations and information interruptions.

Meanwhile, the Department of Health established four working groups to go directly to damaged facilities, direct environmental sanitation, disease prevention and control, and ensure that medical examination and treatment activities are not interrupted. The Department of Education and Training also promptly mobilized staff and teachers, coordinated with parents and local forces to clear mud and repair classrooms, and prepare for students to return to school.

Forces from the Department of Construction, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and local authorities simultaneously mobilized to rebuild houses, repair public works, and regulate traffic at flooded and landslide-prone areas.
