Nghe An province organizes a celebration commemorating the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union.

On the morning of October 16th, the Nghe An Provincial Women's Union held a ceremony to commemorate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20, 1930 - October 20, 2025) and a meeting with members of the Provincial Women's Union Executive Committee from different periods.

Attending the ceremony was Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Hoa, Deputy Chairwoman of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Social Affairs.

On the Nghe An province side, attending the commemoration ceremony were Ms. Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, along with leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Party Building Departments, the Provincial Party Committee Office, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, the Office of the National Assembly Delegation and the Provincial People's Council.

The delegates reviewed the glorious traditions of Vietnamese women throughout history. In each stage of the country's development, Vietnamese women have left their mark through exemplary movements, such as: "Three Responsibilities," "Five Good Women," "Excellent in Public Affairs, Competent in Domestic Affairs," etc.

Born and grown alongside the women's movement nationwide, for the past 95 years, the Nghe An Women's Union has united and gathered women from all walks of life, promoting fine traditions: courage, self-sacrifice, intelligence, self-reliance, diligence, creativity, overcoming all difficulties and challenges… making worthy contributions to the cause of national liberation, building, protecting and renewing the homeland.

In the past five years (2020-2025), women in Nghe An have implemented nearly 3,955 projects participating in the construction of new rural areas, 1,096 startup ideas, provided consulting and job placement services for 41,403 female workers, established 19 women-owned cooperatives and 125 cooperative groups; sponsored 3,403 orphaned children under the "Godmother - Connecting Love" program, built 375 new homes and repaired 35 houses of compassion... 138,870 households with poor and near-poor women have received assistance from the Women's Union, including 4,530 households where women have escaped poverty or near-poverty.

The contributions of the women's movement in Nghe An have been recognized by the Party and the State. The Nghe An Women's Union has been honored to receive the Third, Second, and First Class Labor Orders, the Third, Second, and First Class Independence Orders; and numerous Emulation Flags and Certificates of Merit from the Government, the Central Women's Union, and the Provincial People's Committee.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation - acknowledged and praised the worthy achievements and contributions of the Women's Union, of generations of Union officials and women throughout the province to the development of the country and the homeland.

Entering a new stage of national development, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Vo Thi Minh Sinh urged all levels of the Women's Union and each official, member, and woman to continue improving their skills and capabilities so that they can confidently rise up and assert themselves in various fields. They should actively participate in production and business, proactively strive to escape poverty, develop the economy, and achieve legitimate wealth.

Leveraging internal strengths, diligence, and perseverance in production, successfully implementing the transformation of the economic structure, crop and livestock structure, and occupational and labor structure in the agricultural sector and rural areas; applying digital transformation in promoting and selling local OCOP products.

In parallel, women's associations at all levels need to focus on promoting awareness among women about preserving the fine traditional qualities of Vietnamese women; inheriting and developing the fine traditional values ​​of Nghe An women; and at the same time, adding new values ​​regarding the standards and moral qualities of Vietnamese women in the new era: "Confident, self-respecting, loyal, and capable."

Emphasizing that the development and progress of women are closely linked to the sustainable development of each family, Comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh expressed her wish that women's associations at all levels should pay attention to disseminating information and guiding members on family building, affirming the role of women in preserving the foundation of family happiness and contributing to the prosperity of society.

In parallel, Comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh suggested that the association should continue to innovate its content and methods of operation to suit the new context and situation of the two-level local government. The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee emphasized that the goals, directions, and tasks for the coming period must stem from the needs, aspirations, and practical interests of members and women, in line with the political tasks and specific characteristics of the locality. In particular, attention should be paid to consolidating and strengthening the grassroots organization of the Association comprehensively, innovating forms of member gathering, strengthening close contact with the grassroots, promptly grasping the thoughts and aspirations of members; and proactively and actively advising Party committees and governments at all levels on caring for the development of female human resources.

The Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province will create favorable conditions for the Provincial Women's Union to effectively organize propaganda work, encourage women to participate in movements, care for their lives, address employment issues, and protect their legitimate rights. Attention will also be paid to training, nurturing, and utilizing female cadres in a manner suitable for the new revolutionary period.
