Within the framework of his working visit and participation in the "Russian Energy Week" Forum in Moscow, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son had a working meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Aleksandr Novak.
Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandr Novak thanked Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son and the Vietnamese delegation for accepting the invitation and actively participating in the forum's activities; affirmed that Russia always attaches importance to promoting the comprehensive strategic partnership with Vietnam and highly appreciated the positive developments in bilateral economic and trade cooperation in recent times, especially the specific results achieved by the two sides in the field of energy and oil and gas cooperation.

Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son acknowledged the joint efforts of the two countries' ministries and sectors to continuously expand and strengthen bilateral cooperation, especially in the field of ensuring energy security with many specific projects being promoted by both sides.
The two sides agreed that in recent times, the Governments, agencies, ministries and sectors of the two countries have made strong efforts to implement high-level agreements reached during General Secretary To Lam's visit to Russia. Many documents and projects have been deployed, and a number of outstanding issues are being actively handled, contributing to bringing bilateral cooperation into a new phase of increasingly effective, substantive and trustworthy cooperation.
Discussing the energy sector, the two sides agreed to increase exchanges and speed up preparations to effectively implement the Protocols and Agreements on expanding cooperation in the field of oil and gas exploration and exploitation signed in May 2025 and taking effect in October 2025.

The two sides agreed to study expanding cooperation to other fields such as wind power, green energy, renewable energy and service provision, infrastructure construction, and energy, oil and gas logistics.
Also during his visit to Russia and attendance at the Forum, on October 15 and 16, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son received leaders of typical Russian enterprises operating in the energy-oil and gas sector such as Zarubezhneft, Novatek and Rosatom.

Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son highly appreciated the desire and efforts of corporations in seeking opportunities and promoting specific cooperation projects with Vietnam; affirmed that the Vietnamese Government is interested in and supports businesses of the two countries to proactively exchange directly, sign and implement contracts and cooperation projects in accordance with the laws of the two countries and international law, ensuring harmony of interests between the two sides, creating new symbols for the Vietnam - Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in the coming decades.

Leaders of Russian corporations expressed their gratitude for the Government's attention and close direction in implementing the high-level agreements reached; affirmed that they consider Vietnam a very potential market and wish to have more opportunities to expand investment cooperation in Vietnam.

Russian enterprises pledged to work with Vietnamese partners to effectively implement agreements and commitments between the two countries' senior leaders, especially in the fields of oil and gas, nuclear power and the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, ensuring energy security, serving Vietnam's development goals and the framework of warm and trustworthy relations between the two countries./.
