BYD models are expected to launch in Vietnam in 2025.

The Vietnamese electric vehicle market is set to be more vibrant than ever in 2025 as BYD – a Chinese car brand – prepares to launch a series of strategic products, ranging from sedans to MPVs. These models all utilize advanced DM-i hybrid technology, targeting customers seeking fuel-efficient, environmentally friendly vehicles while still ensuring powerful performance.

Prominent on the list is the BYD SEAL 5 DM-i, a C-segment sedan with a modern fastback design that clearly showcases a sporty spirit. The car uses an 18 kWh Blade battery, allowing for a pure electric range of up to 115 km before switching to hybrid mode. With an expected price of around 500 million VND for the standard version and over 600 million VND for the premium version, the SEAL 5 DM-i is expected to be an attractive option in the affordable hybrid sedan segment, directly competing with Japanese and Korean brands already present in Vietnam.

Furthermore, the BYD M9 DM-i promises to create its own appeal in the premium hybrid MPV segment. This model focuses on comfort and luxury with a spacious interior, captain's chairs, independent air conditioning, and a cockpit equipped with many intelligent driver assistance technologies. With an expected price of 1.9 – 2.4 billion VND, the BYD M9 DM-i is suitable for customers seeking a premium family car, a fuel-efficient 7-seater MPV, and an experience comparable to its European competitors in the same segment.
