TYPHOON WARNING NEAR THE SOUTH CHINA SEA (Typhoon FENGSHEN)

At 7 PM on October 18th, the center of the typhoon was located at approximately 13.3 degrees North latitude and 124.2 degrees East longitude, over the eastern part of central the Philippines. The strongest winds near the center of the typhoon were at level 8 (62-74 km/h), with gusts up to level 10. It was moving in a west-northwest direction at a speed of about 20 km/h.

Forecast of the storm's impact:
• From October 19th, the eastern part of the North East Sea will experience increasingly strong winds, reaching levels 6-7; near the storm's center, winds will be strong at levels 8-9, gusting to level 11, with waves reaching 2.5-5.0m in height. The sea will be very rough.

• Warning:Between October 20-22, the northern South China Sea area (including the Hoang Sa Special Administrative Region) is likely to be affected by strong winds of force 10-11, gusting to force 13.
• All vessels operating in the hazardous zone are susceptible to thunderstorms, tornadoes, strong winds, and high waves.
