Lam Dong province supports Nghe An with 2 billion VND to overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
On the morning of October 21, in Hanoi, Lam Dong province leaders donated 2 billion VND to support Nghe An province in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.
This is the sentiment of the Party Committee, government, cadres, soldiers and people of Lam Dong province sent to the people of Nghe An who are struggling to overcome difficulties after the recent storm and flood.
Attending the program were comrade Phan Dinh Trac - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission.
Representatives of the two provinces' leaders included Mr. Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Lam Dong province; Ms. Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province. Also attending were National Assembly deputies from the delegations of the two provinces.
Since the beginning of the year, Nghe An has been continuously hit hard by natural disasters, especially storms No. 3, No. 5 and No. 10.
The storm and floods killed 8 people, injured 25; damaged 105,309 houses; affected 1,221 schools and 244 medical facilities; more than 9,000 electric poles fell and broke; and seriously damaged traffic and irrigation infrastructure works...
Estimated economic damage to Nghe An after 3 storms is about 8,587 billion VND, of which storm No. 3 is 3,814 billion VND, storm No. 5 is 1,529 billion VND, storm No. 10 is 3,244 billion VND.
Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam expressed his deep sympathy for the losses that Nghe An had to suffer due to natural disasters. In the spirit of “mutual love and affection”, “solidarity and loyalty”, the Party Committee, government, cadres, soldiers and people of Lam Dong province donated 2 billion VND to Nghe An to help overcome the consequences of storms and floods.
