Sinner defeated Bublik 6-4, 6-4, winning a ticket to the Vienna Open semi-finals
Sinner broke in games 7 and 5, defeating Bublik 6-4, 6-4. He won 93% of his first points, did not allow his opponent to have a break point and extended his 19-match winning streak indoors; he will meet Alex De Minaur in the semi-finals.
Jannik Sinner played like a programmed machine: two well-timed breaks of serve, two clean 6-4 sets, and a ticket to the Vienna Open semi-finals. Against Alexander Bublik, the Italian completely controlled the pivotal moments, especially from the service line, to close out the quarter-final in two sets.

Development: two breaks of serve, two sets 6-4
Set 1: Break in game 7, locked in at the end of the set
Sinner patiently waited for his opportunity and broke Bublik's game 7, thereby taking the initiative to end the first set 6-4. The Italian player's serve games almost gave his opponent no chance to approach.
Set 2: The scenario repeats in game 5
The game did not change in the next set. Sinner broke earlier, in game 5, and then held on to close the set with the same score of 6-4. In the end, Sinner won 2-0.
Tactical analysis: Sinner's serve decided the match
Sinner’s winning streak is based on the quality of his serve. With a 67% first serve percentage and a 93% first serve winning percentage (28/30), Sinner is virtually untouchable in service games. Even when he has to use the second ball, he still scores 80% (12/15), completely eliminating the risk of counterattack.
For Bublik, nine aces presented the usual explosive threat, but four double faults and just 46% of second-ball points (12/26) opened the door for Sinner to attack returns. The constant pressure from the back of the court helped Sinner create eight break opportunities and convert two (25% – 2/8), enough to shape the outcome of both sets.
Bublik’s break point record is 0% (0/0) which means Sinner hasn’t allowed any break points to his opponents. On indoor courts, where technical routines and ball trajectories are consistently repeated, Sinner is on a 19-match winning streak – the “programmed machine” mentality.

Background and impact
The win continues Sinner's recent run of dominance over Bublik. After losing at the Halle Open in June, Sinner dropped just three games when they met again in the fourth round of the US Open in September. He continued his upward momentum in Vienna and will face Alex De Minaur in the semi-finals.
Sinner won the Vienna title in 2023 and currently has a record of 15 wins and 4 losses in the tournament in Austria. The Italian is also aiming for a fourth title in 2025.
