President Trump 'disappointed' with the Russia-Ukraine conflict situation
President Trump said it was "very disappointing" that peace talks between Russia and Ukraine had made no progress after more than three years of conflict.
According to The Hill, on October 25, US President Donald Trump expressed disappointment with the Ukraine peace process and said that he would not meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin until he was sure the two sides would reach a peace agreement.
"I'm not going to waste my time on a meeting if I'm not sure we're going to make a deal. I still have a great personal relationship with Putin, but what's happening in Ukraine is very disappointing," Mr. Trump told reporters in Qatar.
According to President Trump, he had hoped that the Ukraine crisis could be resolved more easily than other conflicts in the world.
"I used to think the Ukraine conflict would end before the Middle East. Before that, we had India and Pakistan, or Azerbaijan and Armenia. But the Ukraine problem is extremely difficult, especially when Mr. Putin and Mr. Zelensky do not like each other," Mr. Trump said.

According to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, the US has not completely ruled out the possibility of holding a Trump-Putin summit. "President Trump and the entire administration hope that one day the meeting can take place again. But we have to make sure that it brings positive results," Ms. Leavitt informed.
On the same day, October 25, Russian special envoy Kirill Dmitriev outlined three "key" conditions to resolve the Ukraine conflict in an interview with the US media.
"The United States, Ukraine and Russia all understand what a solution could be, and we hope it will be achieved within a reasonable timeframe. First, Russia is completely open to providing security guarantees to Ukraine. Second, the parties must recognize the territorial situation as it is. And finally, Kiev must maintain neutrality, which is very important for Russia's security," Dmitriev said.
Russian officials later also praised Mr. Trump's efforts to promote peace, commenting that a meeting between the two Russian and US leaders could still take place.
