Enhancing the knowledge and skills of lecturers and teachers who teach political theory subjects.
On the morning of October 30th, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Public Security, organized a training course on political theory for lecturers and teachers of political theory subjects, staff working with students, and youth union officials in universities, colleges, and vocational schools within the national education system nationwide.
The course is offered both in-person and online in provinces and cities across the country.
Recognizing the importance of political theory education
In his guiding remarks, Comrade Ngo Dong Hai, Member of the Central Committee and Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, emphasized the important role and significance of political theory education. He affirmed that, in recent times, the implementation of Conclusion No. 94 of the Central Party Secretariat on continuing to innovate the study of political theory within the national political education system has achieved many positive results.
The quality of political theory teaching has improved significantly; lecturers and teachers in schools have made many efforts to innovate content, methods, and approaches; many educational institutions have paid due attention and invested appropriately in political theory education. Methods of acquiring and transmitting knowledge are increasingly dynamic, linking theory with practice, helping learners form a worldview, a philosophy of life, and a scientific methodology.
Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Ngo Dong Hai, also raised many concerns about the curriculum, the amount of knowledge, the content of the textbooks, the training and education methods, and the quality of the teaching staff. He was particularly concerned about linking theoretical education with practical life, with the leadership and guidance of the Party and State, and the role of Party committees and the system at all levels in political and ideological education. Through this, he emphasized the need to innovate methodology, political awareness, and beliefs among students – those who will play a crucial role in the future of the country.
Comrade Ngo Dong Hai also stated: In light of the breakthrough requirements for the development of education and training according to Resolution No. 71 of the Politburo, and the continued implementation of Conclusion No. 94 of the Central Party Secretariat; especially with the Party and State issuing many revolutionary policies, orientations, and decisions to usher the country into a new era, the work of political theory education needs to continue to be given attention and promoted.
This is also a common political task of Party committees at all levels, including schools, and first and foremost for the management staff, lecturers, and teachers, aiming to equip young people with theory, methodology, belief, and aspirations. Therefore, each management staff member and student needs to clearly define their responsibilities, study seriously, research in depth, grasp and fully update theoretical and practical issues, and new orientations and policies of the Party and the State. Through this, they will contribute to making political theory education truly a source of spiritual motivation and a solid ideological foundation for the development of the country.
Delivering 7 important topics
The training course took place over two days, October 30th and 31st. On the morning of October 30th, participants listened to Professor Dr. Le Van Loi, President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, deliver two lectures: "Continuing to perfect the theory of the Party's reform line in the new development era"; and "The role of lecturers and teachers in teaching political theory in protecting the Party's ideological foundation in the new context".
Over the course of two days, the trainees continued to absorb five topics, including: Identifying, combating, and refuting erroneous and hostile viewpoints to protect the Party's ideological foundation in the new context; the work of educating students on ideals, ethics, and cultural lifestyles today; Ho Chi Minh's creative arguments on socialism and building socialism in Vietnam; innovating teaching and learning methods for the Ho Chi Minh Thought module in conjunction with the application of information technology; and information on the key strategic policies of the Politburo to contribute to the successful achievement of the two centenary goals in the era of national development, prosperity, and strength.
