Brave Soldier: Reenacting the project to destroy the 'white death zone'
The final episode of the reality TV show recreated the capture of two drug lords Nguyen Thanh Tuan and Nguyen Van Thuan, revealing valuable documentary footage of the 18TN and 19TN cases.
Episode 15, also the last episode of the program "Brave Soldier", concluded the journey in 2025 by recreating one of the most complex and dangerous drug cases in Long Luong, Son La. The program focused on the fight to destroy the lair of two especially dangerous wanted subjects, Nguyen Thanh Tuan and Nguyen Van Thuan, important links in the transnational drug trafficking ring.
Reenactment of the siege at Lung Xa lair
Inspired by the 18TN and 19TN cases, which lasted from 2015 to 2018, the film showed valuable professional documents. Viewers were able to follow the process from when the authorities discovered the criminals' fortified bunker in Lung Xa village, Ta De until a battle was set up in the middle of the Northwest mountains and forests.
In the reenacted operational meeting, Colonel Tran Thanh Son informed about the group of wanted criminals fleeing to Long Luong, using many tricks to attract their accomplices and put pressure on the local people. The situation became complicated when the task force not only faced the entrenched criminal group but also had to deal with the obstruction from a group of people who were incited and agitated by them.
To ensure safety and effectiveness, the police had to set up multiple layers of security perimeters to prevent outside elements from attacking and supporting the criminal group in the bunker. This factor made the process of approaching the target very difficult.
Artist's feelings and meaning of the program
During the experience, the artists shared their honest thoughts. Actor Hai Long said: “When filming, our battles were limited and reduced the difficulty a lot. In reality, the battles were a thousand times more severe and terrifying.” Meanwhile, Ngo Kien Huy expressed his pride when witnessing the modern equipment used in the project. MC Thanh Trung expressed his gratitude because the program conveyed the spirit of the battles in the history of the Vietnam People's Public Security Forces.
Gala Night to close the first season
The special gala night that concluded the "Brave Soldiers" journey was attended by many senior leaders of the Ministry of Public Security and professional units. Speaking at the event, Major General Ngo Hoai Thu, Deputy Director of the Department of Political Work, affirmed that the program is a key propaganda activity towards the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security's Traditional Day.
She emphasized: “This is not simply an entertainment program, it is also a bridge between the people and the Public Security Forces, and a profound gratitude to honor the great contributions of the Public Security Forces on the front of protecting national security, maintaining social order and safety for the peace and happiness of the people.”
The program helped participating artists understand more deeply the courage, responsibility and camaraderie of police officers, who always carry within them the ideal of "Forgetting oneself for the country - Serving the people".
