After a period of entanglement, today (November 4), Tan Mai Ward People's Committee forcibly recovered land from Mr. Tran Van Danh and Ms. Le Thi Oi to implement the Nghi Son - Cua Lo Coastal Road Project.

The area of land subject to compulsory recovery is 1,669.2 square meters, which is BHK land (flat land for growing other annual crops), belonging to plot number 156, map sheet number 23. This is the area within the clearance scope of the key inter-regional traffic connection project, which is of great significance to the socio-economic development of the North Central region.

Before carrying out the enforcement, the authorities had fully implemented the steps prescribed by law, and at the same time organized propaganda and mobilization many times. The People's Committee of Hoang Mai town (at the time when the administrative unit merger had not yet been carried out) as well as the Tan Mai ward government had explained the rights, compensation policies, and resettlement support according to the approved plan. However, Mr. Danh and Mrs. Oi's households did not agree to hand over the site, so the government had to apply coercive measures according to the regulations.

In the morning, the Land Reclamation Enforcement Board and the relevant authorities deployed a plan to ensure security and order, and at the same time, conducted an inventory and reclaimed the area according to legal procedures. The enforcement process was safe and followed procedures, without any hotspots or disturbances.

A representative of the Tan Mai Ward People's Committee said that enforcement is the last resort after propaganda, mobilization, and dialogue have failed. "The local government always puts the legitimate rights of the people first. However, in cases of deliberate non-compliance, we are forced to enforce according to legal procedures to ensure the progress of national key projects," he emphasized.

The Coastal Road Project from Nghi Son (Thanh Hoa) to Cua Lo (Nghe An), section Km7 to Km76, is a national key project with a total investment of more than 4,651 billion VND, creating an important connection axis between Thanh Hoa and Nghe An, opening up space for tourism and service development, while contributing to the completion of the North Central region's transport infrastructure network. Accelerating the site clearance progress in Tan Mai ward is considered to be of key significance in contributing to the project's completion.

It is known that after completing the forced land acquisition, the local government will hand over the site to the construction units to carry out the next steps of the project.
