Gold price today November 14, SJC gold price and gold ring price slipped to 153 million mark, world gold price decreased this morning, US government ended the longest shutdown in history

World gold prices fell this morning

Accordingly, the world gold price today, November 14, on the Asian market, opened at 4,171.46 USD/ounce, down 24.19 USD/ounce compared to the same time yesterday (4,195.65 USD/ounce). The gold price trading range on November 13 was from 4,145.59 - 4,245.13 USD/ounce.

The US government has officially reopened after the longest shutdown in history, and this development directly supported gold prices. As the USD fell sharply, the XAU/USD pair surged in the first half of the session. Although the increase slowed down at times, the market risks are still tilted in favor of gold prices as investors increased their demand for protection.

The waning optimism in the European session pushed XAU/USD below $4,200, but weakness in the US stock market helped gold maintain its safe-haven status.

Major indexes on Wall Street were red. The Dow Jones fell about 400 points from its record high. The Nasdaq Composite fell the most, losing 1.76% due to concerns about technology valuations. As stocks cooled, money sought shelter, helping gold prices stabilize compared to risky assets.

Investors are also awaiting a batch of US economic data released after a 43-day hiatus. These figures have a direct impact on the Fed's interest rate expectations in December, thereby creating more volatility for gold prices.

The likelihood of a rate cut in December has diminished following recent comments from Chairman Jerome Powell. According to FedWatch, the probability of a rate cut is now 53.6%, while the probability of a hold is 46.4%. These changes have left markets more sensitive, and gold remains the preferred asset for any new signs of uncertainty.

XAU/USD is currently hovering around $4,207.20. On the 4-hour chart, gold is losing momentum but still holding above the 20-period SMA at $4,164. All three SMAs, 20, 100, and 200, are pointing up, confirming the overall uptrend.

The Momentum indicator has dipped slightly above 100, while the RSI has fallen from overbought territory to 66, suggesting that buyers are still in control. As long as gold prices hold above the 20-period SMA, the correction is likely to be shallow.

On the daily chart, gold prices continue to hold above all important SMAs. The 20-day SMA is above the 100-day SMA and the 200-day SMA, acting as a solid buffer around $4,076. RSI hovers at 64, while Momentum is slightly rising, reflecting strength on the buying side.

If gold prices surpass the session high of $4,245, a target towards the $4,300 region is entirely possible.
