VTV inaugurates Studio S1: Capacity of 750 seats
This key project, funded entirely by the station's revenue to celebrate the 14th Party Congress, marks a significant step forward in the strategy of modernizing its technical infrastructure.
On November 19th, Vietnam Television (VTV) officially held the inauguration ceremony and filmed its first program at Studio S1, one of the most modern studio complexes currently in operation. Located at its headquarters at 43 Nguyen Chi Thanh Street, this project is considered a significant step in the station's strategy to modernize its facilities and technology.
A new symbol in VTV's development strategy.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam, Director General of Vietnam Television, emphasized that the S1 studio and central square project is a key infrastructure project. The S1 studio is being built on the site of the old P building, a place associated with many generations of the station's staff, signifying continuity and development with a new, more modern and professional appearance.
"With this project, Vietnam Television (VTV) affirms its determination to build modern infrastructure on par with the region; innovate technology to improve content quality; and create attractive, humane, and professional multi-platform television products. Studio S1 will be a symbol of VTV's spirit of innovation: self-reliance, creativity, willingness to invest, and a willingness to lead the way," Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam shared.
The "S1 Studio and Central Square" project is built on an area of approximately 10,034 m², with a seating capacity of 750. This complex is capable of meeting the production requirements for political commentary programs, major events, sports programs, cultural and artistic programs, and large-scale game shows.
The mark of self-reliant resources and construction progress.
It is noteworthy that the entire project is 100% funded from the legitimate revenue of Vietnam Television (VTV), the result of years of saving, accumulation, and effort by its staff. This affirms VTV's self-reliance and long-term vision.
The project commenced on July 11, 2024, and was completed on October 15, 2025, after 15 months of construction. The project has been inspected and licensed for operation by the relevant authorities in accordance with the law.
Representing the contractor, Mr. Nguyen Dang Thuan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of 136 Group Joint Stock Company, stated that the company has dedicated all its resources, experience, and responsibility to completing the project on schedule and ensuring quality.
A meaningful project to celebrate the 14th Party Congress.
At the ceremony, delegates performed the ritual of unveiling the plaque designating the project as "A project commemorating the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam." Previously, on October 6, 2025, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed a decision recognizing the "S1 Studio and Central Square" project as a project commemorating the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Immediately after the inauguration ceremony, the Arts and Culture Department of Vietnam Television officially received the premises and began filming its first program at the new studio. The commissioning of this modern complex will contribute to improving production quality, better meeting political objectives and the increasingly sophisticated tastes of viewers.
