The first training journey and pace

Early in the morning of November 21st, Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team landed at Nagoya International Airport after a night flight from Hanoi. After completing immigration procedures, the team was greeted by local organizers who assisted them with transportation to the bus. After a journey of approximately two hours, the entire team arrived at the hotel, quickly settled into their accommodations, ate, and rested to recover.

That afternoon, the team held their first training session on the field in Hamamatsu City. The main activities included light exercises, endurance running, stretching, and acclimatization to the local weather conditions, where the temperature was around 14°C, significantly colder than in Vietnam, requiring time to adapt.

Personnel: Two players are absent due to injury.

  • Defender Chương Thị Kiều did not participate in the training camp because she is currently recovering from an injury.
  • Midfielder Nguyen Thi Van was also absent due to not having recovered in time.

This absence gives the coaching staff an opportunity to review personnel options and assess squad depth in three consecutive friendly matches.

Tactical perspective and professional objectives

The three opponents, both from school and club football backgrounds, helped the team test their match rhythm (November 24th, 26th, and 28th), thereby serving the set objectives: assessing form, testing lineups, and refining tactical approaches. Experiencing the 14°C weather also helped the players acclimatize to the intensity of exercise in cold conditions, preparing them for a dense schedule of matches.

At the operational level, the coaching staff has a basis to rotate personnel according to roles, manage exercise load through recovery exercises and adjust volume, optimize performance and minimize injury risks ahead of the SEA Games 33.

Next schedule

After the training camp concludes, the team will return to Ho Chi Minh City on November 30th and stay there for two more days to acclimatize to the local weather conditions. On December 2nd, the team will travel to Chonburi (Thailand), ready for their journey at the 33rd SEA Games.
