Huong Giang at Miss Universe 2025: Didn't make it to the Top 30, but still won big.
Despite her early exit from the Miss Universe 2025 finals, Vietnam's representative Huong Giang still achieved a significant accomplishment by securing a Top 3 position in the "Beyond the Crown" community project.
The 74th Miss Universe final has officially concluded in Thailand, with Mexico emerging victorious. Vietnam's representative, Miss Huong Giang, did not make it into the Top 30. Nevertheless, her journey in this beauty pageant left a lasting impression, fulfilling a unique "mission" that transcended the boundaries of a competition.

Achievements beyond the crown
Huong Giang's most notable achievement at Miss Universe 2025 was making it into the Top 3 of the "Beyond the Crown" project (a meaningful social project). This category seeks projects with a strong impact, reflecting the community values that the Miss Universe organization aims for. Her project is a commitment to an inclusive, equal society that promotes diversity, where everyone is recognized and treated fairly.

Furthermore, thanks to strong audience support, the Vietnamese representative also made it into the Top contestants with the highest votes in the "Most Beautiful People" and "People's Choice" categories. According to statistics, she also has the largest number of followers on social media platforms in this year's competition, helping to bring Vietnam's image to international media attention.
Historical journey and challenges
Huong Giang's participation in Miss Universe 2025 is historic as she is the first transgender woman to represent Vietnam in this competition. This has generated significant attention but also comes with considerable challenges. Compared to the general standard, Huong Giang faces disadvantages in terms of age and height (1.67m), which is not considered ideal for an international pageant.

In crucial rounds like the semi-finals, despite being praised for her stage presence, her performance skills were considered rather safe and not strong enough to overshadow the powerful competitors in the region. After this competition, many international beauty websites did not include Vietnam in their Top 30 predictions.

Huong Giang's failure to make it into the Top 30 also reminded many fans of Pham Huong's situation in 2015. At that time, Pham Huong was also a highly anticipated representative but was eliminated early, causing much regret.

Mission to inspire
From the beginning, Huong Giang set her goal not just for the crown. She wanted to bring the story of a transgender person, representing the LGBTQ+ community, to the big stage to spread the message about equality and the pursuit of dreams.

One of the most memorable moments was the national costume presentation. Instead of choosing a glamorous design, she appeared in a pristine white ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress) alongside a bicycle, recreating a simple dream from her school days. This image not only celebrated the beauty of Vietnam but also conveyed a profound personal story, showcasing the intelligence and sophistication of the Vietnamese representative.

Ultimately, although she didn't advance further in the competition, Huong Giang is considered to have achieved her biggest goal: bringing the voice of the community she represented to the world and inspiring those who never give up on their dreams. The mark she left behind is a story of effort and the value of her message, a legacy more enduring than the title itself.
