On the evening of November 23rd in Hanoi, the "17th Anniversary Gala of Hearts for Children" program took place, marking a long journey in the mission to bring life to children with congenital heart disease. The event was organized by Vietnam Television (VTV) in collaboration with the Military Telecommunications and Industry Corporation (Viettel).
Attending the program were Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly; and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam, Member of the Executive Committee of the Government Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee - General Director of Vietnam Television, along with many other delegates.

A 17-year journey and impressive numbers.
Born from an initiative by Viettel and the Vietnamese Heart Foundation – Vietnam Television, the "Heart for Children" program has been operating persistently for the past 17 years. To date, the program has successfully supported surgeries for nearly 7,600 children, organized screening examinations for nearly 190,000 children nationwide, and mobilized more than 250 billion VND from the community.
These figures not only demonstrate the scale but also confirm the profound impact of the program in bringing hope and new lives to thousands of families.
Recognition and appeal from State leaders
Speaking at the event, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh expressed her emotion and appreciation for the humanitarian significance of the program. She emphasized that the 17-year journey has become a bridge connecting millions of compassionate hearts with thousands of underprivileged children, creating many "miracles" through community contributions.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh acknowledged the widespread role of VTV, the social responsibility of Viettel, and the dedication of the medical staff and philanthropists. She also called on organizations, businesses, and individuals to continue their support, emphasizing that every contribution, however small, can save a life and bring a healthy future to the children.
A new journey with an expanded vision.
Entering its 18th year, "Heart for Children" sets a new milestone in its development. The program will expand its scope of support to include more medical conditions, raise the age of beneficiaries, and increase assistance for disadvantaged cases. The goal is to heal even more fragile heartbeats in Vietnamese children.
The 17th anniversary gala was also an opportunity for the program to showcase these important innovations and continue to call on the community to work together and promptly refer cases in need of assistance.

Meaningful moments at the Gala night
With the theme "Harmonizing Hearts," the Gala night was divided into three parts: "Magical Sounds," "Melodies of Love," and "Brilliant Songs of Joy." The program presented touching stories about the recovery journeys of young children, honoring the silent dedication of doctors, nurses, families, and the community.
Many of the children saved by the program have now grown up to become students, engineers, and teachers, and are giving back to contribute to society. Their stories are the most vivid proof of the power of compassion and the motivation for the "Heart for Children" journey to continue.
