Explaining her actions, artist Thanh Hien said: "When he was younger, he had many mistresses. When he went to see his mistress, she wanted to spite me, so she wrote my husband's name and her own name all over his collar and shirt hem. But I still washed the shirt clean and let him go. I did that to show people that I didn't care, let him go wherever he wanted, and then when I'm old, 'the leaves fall back to the roots'."
